If you relied on the GST being posted in the calendar on here you would have seen that it wasn't today. It was never advertised on here for today, nor has the registration opened this week. The calendar actually does have the date of the next GST on it though. I can understand why you would assume that it was being hosted today (it wasn't, due to a lack of available hosts) but please check the things that you're using as a reason to vent before making further assumptions. |

I've checked it like every week. Who hasn't? This just shows birthdays for the last few months. Thanks for finally posting then condescendingly saying I should have looked though. You're right, no one on the whole server knew the correct date because of your transparent and timely notifications. UN can host many tournaments each month with fewer staff. Many players here can also do a better job than the staff does with hosting this. |

GST is always on a Saturday, check the dates for Saturdays. ![]()
I don't know how you believe these two servers and their events can be compared.
I made a website with Jazz explaining the tournament and how to register, a few different players translated it into different languages, Luda made a picture to go into people's statuses, the word spread, we had 32 teams, it lasted over an entire weekend, and Memento mori won. It's hard, but if someone is confident in their ability to host a tournament then they should do it instead of waiting once-a-season to participate in one. |

It may be for a reason, but I found out that you can view the calendar as a guest and see everyone's birthdays, but not the GST date. You have to log in to see what date it is. However small it may be, I admit that I didn't think of it at first, and others probably ran into the same problem. Also, I doubt Clops really would have been able to host even if he felt he could do a better job because he already stated that he was going to be working the day of GST, so he couldn't participate. He is correct, though, in pointing out that many other players would be able and willing to host once trained properly. I assume the hosts for each season are scheduled early on, and conflicting issues can be worked out ahead of time, allowing a change of hosts if necessary. That being said, a change in the date of the event really shouldn't occur. Things do come up though, and that is perfectly understandable. However, people would need to be informed. The Graalians calendar is helpful, but since so many people still seem clueless about the GST dates, it may not be enough.. On a side note, since it was pushed back, I may be able to participate now.

No one knowing the date really screwed up my team. The tournament should be held every month. It's unlikely anyone can host a guild spar tournament on this server without a means to only allow the two teams that should be fighting this round into the spar room. There are players that host tournaments frequently, but they haven't been hired as graal staff. Personally I would recommend Power (TA) and Crimewatcher (TA) as the most experienced and consistent hosts. Also, staff announcements for swamp guild spar challenges should come back if they haven't. If there aren't enough staff, why wouldn't more be hired if only for GST days. There are usually only 1 or 2 matches occurring simultaneously despite there being 6 viewing rooms. |

There should be 1v1 tournaments also. If you think there will be too many entrants, it should be limited to top players on spar list like with GST.

Thank you for the recognition Clops, it's much appreciated. Me and CrimeWatcher have hosted over 30 TA 1v1 tournaments and 2v2 tag team tournaments and they have all been very organized and successful. I also agree that there should be 1v1 tournaments in the gst. It would be a lot of fun and very entertaining to watch.

How the hell do you compare a tournament having 30 people on it a all and takes about ten minutes with a tournament having over 100 players, which will last for an hour and more. If you think you can do it better, what I really don't assume after you making yourself look like a fool, go apply for GPs and try your luck.. And, are you saying to hire GPs for the GST only or did I (hopefully) read it wrong? Oh, and Rufus never said this forum is OFFICIAL, so please, it's your own failure. |
