I think you gotta visualize the heart as some kind of texture. Plastic, metal, etc. That way, you can work towards a more realistic shine. http://image.shutterstock.com/display_pic_with_logo/787372/113345206/stock-photo-plastic-heart-high-quality-render-with-clipping-path-113345206.jpg (Unsupported image host) Since you're starting off, I'd try to reference a photo for where to place highlights and shadows. As for the color, it's super red. I'd try a slightly more gray red; not like in the picture I linked, but like in the Graalians forum browser icon, the ying and yang symbol. That kind of red; not too dark, not too intense. I mean, you can still have intense colors in a piece, but in small increments so it's not overpowering. |
