most people do not think they have been hacked when their head is just changed. also use a more specific thing for your title, not just "update". staff shouldnt edit someones account without talking anyway...

If your still logged on after such an event occurs (as you were), then you were not hacked.

If they can, it would make so much more sense if staff changed your hat when you win an event instead of saying "check your hats."
