I've no names to share on who selectively spars but I can tell you those people are everywhere and a lot more appeared when facebook server showed up for the fear of PC Players. Its not an illegal thing to do either so no need to make a thread thats meant to bash others.

I think it would be interesting if the people posting here had a competition to see who could get the best record out of 1000 spars by selectively sparring. Noob accounts of course, so people's mains don't get bashed. I'm actually curious to see how easy it is now. The side rooms gets bashed, but the few times I go there to watch matches I see some good fights. |

Let me see if I can explain how mentalities evolve in graal. I'm a use the side room mentality. There was probably certain sparers that stalk the side rooms for noobs that they could get easy wins from. Some upper tier sparers saw that and started calling out side room boosters without naming people. They repeat it enough and the lower tier sparers start repeating it while assuming that the upper tier sparers were talking about all side room sparers. Now players that are not yet good enough to spar the players hogging the mix room are bashed for side room sparring. I'm a true believer that you only get better by fighting the best, but I also understand that everyone is different and some have to work their way up slower than others. |

Well, unfortunately that's their main purpose for the time being. It's a consequence of the community, not the design. All of the best sparrers just happen to prefer to spar in the same room, so players who want to avoid those players are always in the side rooms. Sometimes I'll be having a convo with someone through PMs so I can't streak and I'll go into a side room, and after about two spars I feel awkward seeing a bunch of 5:1 sparrers around me queuing constantly against bad players, so I just leave. It was not always this way though. The community just shifted in a way where now all of the better sparrers are comfortable sparring one another. It probably mostly has to do with iDevice players dropping their grudge against PCs and finally heading to the main room instead of iDevice room. So, the purpose and design of the side rooms are to give you a faster queue, but the way I see them mostly being used now is to intentionally avoid better sparrers. For example, there are people on OP's list with 5000+ spars, some even 10k+, that I've never witnessed sparring in the main room. There's no other explanation for that other than them wanting to avoid losses. Savant, Jose, Pete, Livid, Edin, etc. I'm pretty active at all times and I've never seen these players in that room, ever. |

I've seen people go in the main room and just spar noobs there because during the day most good people are at school/work. So people can just streak on noobs and when someone good enters they'll leave the room after losing to them so people shouldn't just assume because someone is in main room they aren't selective sparrers. Last time I saw you spar was a while ago I think when you first joined Alumni or right before you joined them. I saw you in streak room and then you got banned for something. I saw you on your alt in the PC room but whenever you were on your main you were in main room whenever I saw you. Going by the logic of this thread since you were in main room you aren't a selective sparrer. |

On another note, I'm about to blow some of your minds, TIMEZONES. Most of you are American, that's 6 hours behind England, how are you supposed to see me spar unless you're sparring quite early or I'm up pretty late? Obviously sparring in my timezone is much easier because there's no way near as many good sparrers sparring, but that's not the only reason. Unless you're an older player you probably don't even know that this isn't my first account, and that my first (iDevice) account had like 20k spars before I made a new account. |
