Bump for update, seeing we are nearing the release of this badass game.

Also got some sweet gamescom footage that just make we wet whenever I watch.

 

The amount of stuff you can do in this game is pretty amazing. As someone who have never played any Metal Gear Solid, is it ok to jump straight to The Phantom Pain?

I too have never played a MGS game before but I HAVE played Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon FS which seems pretty similar in gameplay mechanics.

Considering a pre-order for this but there's a voice in the back of my mind telling me to hold off.

Must be that part of my soul that was really disappointed with how Destiny turned out.

Also would like to point out if you want to get up to speed with the MGS story in TPP I suggest watching the playthroughs of MGS Peace Walker and Snake Eater.

After watching Peace Walker, the story seems a lot clearer to me and I'll probably have a look at Snake Eater if I have time.

But let's be honest, the MGS story is ****ing amazing. Hideo Kijima dominates with this material.  

metal gear solid is a tactical-action-adventure-shooting game, One of the best games ever. You can even check all the game reviews! Metal Gear Rising (or the one with Raiden) was a different kind of game since it was published by Platinum Games who created the game "Bayonetta". MGS always has a good story to tell and had lots of easter eggs and gun customization. The games pre- MGS4 is just mostly for the single-player so of course its limited but MGS4 there were many things to do. Can you try replaying the game in the hardest mode without killing anyone or getting spotted? You can play MGO which stands for Metal Gear online which was the best kind of online multiplayer I've ever played. Im sure Metal Gear Solid: Phantom Pain will be the best game of 2015 with over the top improvements since MGS4. I'd like to talk about it more but it'd be too long and I'd be wasting my time when you can experience this yourselves.

TL;DR
Metal Gear Solid series is way better than Assassins Creed(My Opinion)
I didnt like Metal Gear Solid Rising because its different but I did like it because it was RAIDEN and story fits.
If you have a ps3, buy them all if you want to experience it. Sadly, MGO is closed but will reopen on MGS5! Check out more of its MGS5 online trailer.  

if you havent played mgs please play it and if you cant deal with graphics from before you were born play the twin snakes on gamecube instead of the original mgs. dont play 4 tho but play 1 2 3.

What's so bad about MGS 4?

I don't really like David Hayter as Snakes VA, his voice is just too raspy for me to listen to but other than that, this game is great.

The extensive cutscenes were annoying, I think Kojima himself even said it was over the top. Plus, the story just seemed kind of boring and bland in comparison to the others and the bosses were complete ****.  

And it was just boring in general the story wasnt revealed well just garbage flow and a quick conclusion

Gonna have to agee, this was more of a movie than a game.

A pretty complex movie on that note.

Dayum, that Metal Gear Rex helmet looks pretty ****ing sick.

Unfortunately I'll have to settle with a regulat copy of the game.

Not really buying into the pre-order bullcrap nowadays.  

Team Sneaking for metal gear online ft. Big boss and Liquid Ocelot. Not your average capture the flag here  

Love how Snake and Ocelot will be playable characters in MGO.

Definitely not going to be your average COD run and gun nonsense.

Too bad it won't be available day 1 of launch.
