In fact, if you get started now maybe you can draw a hat and enter it in the annual christmas competition.

This just in... towering and sparring ruined because... lack of hats. No longer competitive because... lack of hats. Those complaining are impatient and were only in the tower for the hats.

to be honest though literally everything in this game is driven by hats so
you play events for hats, what do you spend the gralats you farm on? hats, you do daily quests and get gralats that you spend on hats, you win hats for nearly every in-game competition, every holiday rewards you with hats, etc.

so overall it's not too strange

If you want to be a snide prick about it, feel free, but surely you recognize that competition significantly deflates without some sort of goal or incentive to encourage it? Sure the tower hats were getting stale, which is why people were excited for a new reward system that would incorporate different types of rewards for all kinds of different competitive activities in the game, but even the hats were better than the nothing that we have now.

competition for the sake of competition only exists with a few people, most would rather have something to show for achievement, be it a hat / belt etc. 4-lom of course wouldn't understand this because he has yet to do anything competitive in his lifetime, aside from maybe fashion contests.

Shiv don’t waste your time talking sense to 4-Lom. That diva always being sarcastic and likes to provide nothing to this type of thread in regards to competitive play. The temporary solution they should have done was to leave only 5K and 10K rewards since that takes more time to achieve.

No I wasn't being sarcastic, I was pointing out that the same idiots who complained about 'hat chasers' ruining competitive towering and spar are now complaining about the 'competitive aspect' being removed when the only difference is that there aren't hats. And no need for name calling, jack-ass.

Absolutely. Imagine if there was an effort to restore balanced versions of some of the old content like weapons and magic powers... could be a lot more types of skills contests. After seeing what was implemented in the Box Fort, I am interested to see what kind of changes actually come to pass in the system when it arrives, and how much of that will reflect the competitive aspects of the game in comparison to the more social aspects.

The majority of mobile titles out there are heavy into the social 'sharing' of achievements... and in-game benefits as a result of said sharing, loyalty, etc. I hope that some form of these are also integrated.

Lemme answer your question with another question. Just how long did it take to change any system in graal classic? I'd say about 15-16 years. So thats the time u gotta invest to wait for this "NGS". Besides, NGS will probably cause so many complaints cuz it may lack in something. Thats y no one wud bother to release NGS, assuming that its complete(Which obviously its not)

Wtf are you on about? No one said anything about hat chasers. All we're saying is that we would like a reward system to be implemented for competitive activities in the game to make it a little more fresh. It would be nice to have a system in which people in a guild could do several different things to contribute to the guild's total points beyond just towering. Not really sure why you're conflating this with "DA GAME IS RUINED CUZ NO HATS HURR DURR". The game is stale and many of us have been playing for years, so when this was announced a lot of people were excited. To not see it implemented is disappointing.

Listen up bud the problem isnt the HATS being gone its the fact that we were promised a better system and not delivered one. If you promise players a great new system that eliminates a flawed but working system players have complained about, you cant just take out the old system without having a new one in place. We’re going on 2 years no rewards do u really expect towering to survive that long? Come on dude i see you blowing gaskets over bug prices so dont say we’re mad about stupid hats.

I’m actually saving up for a new house template from River Realtors. Not everything is hats for me. I'm sure there are plenty of players that don’t actually care for hats too. The purchase of one of those templates is rewarding enough. I will have worked hard and spent time for it. It’s an achievement and a reward.

In my opinion, It isn't so much they are salty because there isn't a tower reward, It's just...they are salty no matter what, In towering if you lost your tower you got "LOL YOUR TEAM SUCKS AT TOWER TROLOLOL QUIT" If you took their tower you got a " LOL YOUR TEAM SUCKS AT TOWER NOOBS" The worst part is they don't even know who the hell the other people are most the time.

Spar is the exact same way, although in my opinion Spar is just filled with more immature people who would look at a new sparrer, who may even have a 13-40 spar score and will make fun of them for it instead of actually helping them because they feel they are "Too good" or "shouldn't have to " help new players. In graal sparring specifically it's like we got a crap ton of narcissistic people.
But I do feel they should do something with towering. Make it alive again.

That's pretty much all competitive play on graal summed up in general.
Not really surprising for online games nowadays though

Don't get me wrong, Yeah there is always that one narcissist in any competitive game, but graal there is like a crap ton, if anything they overrun th amount of actual people who realize it is a game, Even for the RP community there is people who think like a narcissist just because they RP better (Not sure how one does this but lol) that they are better than others,

Although I'm not gonna say I'm a people's expert or play too many competing games myself. But from ones I ever have played, Classic just has a crappy community with a lot of immature people, Especially for military, I know this one guy ( Not gonna tell you his name but if you ever know anyone from the military community you'd know him) where if he don't like you, You're instantly autistic. And he calls basically anyone he fights autistic. Supposedly is 17 but acts like a frikin 9 yr old for Christ sake
