I flashed by Samsung Tablet, but I wouldn't be surprised if they prevented the Samsung S6 and beyond from being flashable (which I have little knowledge in knowing how). I'm pretty sure Samsung is planning on merging into their own operating system, which they started by making the Samsung Gear Watch with Tizen. Don't take my word for it, because it was a rumor I heard.

My bad, let me rephrase. The S7 has a locked bootloader. While there are ways to get around this, the Exynos chips aren't open source. So yes, you can flash things. Nothing will be really optimized however since developers can't really modify things already in the system. One example of this is how usually on Cyanogen MOD their camera replaces the stock one, but on the Exynos SoC, it just adds another one. Idk if I said this above, but if customization is really your thing but really want the power, wait for the S7. It should come with Snapdragon 820 chips and QualComm even encourages flashing stoof. I wouldn't doubt that the S7 comes locked however, since the bigger companies tend to do that as they know people unlock them, which voids warranty, and they ezpz money because then they aren't in the loop of having to pay people back. @Twiz, the Z5P was just a battery hog. Even with cardboard you can't tell a difference between 4K and 2K. Anybody who says they can is hyped up on placebo since your eyes can barely see 2200ppi, assuming you have perfect vision- which is impossible as your eyes deteriorate after being made. It also now runs a slower 810. Again, nothing wrong with it- but there are a lot cheaper options with better specs. Like i said though. Xiaomi Mi5 Pro is going to sweep up this year. |

bugs man. like 40% of the time i unlock it, it will freeze for 4-5 seconds. contact names dont show up when its connected to my car's bluetooth (it only shows numbers). my LTE signal is really weak, not sure if its my provider or the phone itself. people claim that the middle button/fingerprint scanner stops being responsive (i havent had that problem yet). |

Will older chips take longer to load up apps? Yes. Will there will be a frame drop or two every minute? Yes. But that's something that's expected, especially when you attempt to push out that many pixels continuously. If you want a smooth buttery experience you should get a potato phone. Max screen resolution of 2ppi. In terms of speed the Note 5 kills the 6P. Or yea. For now. Actually I never brought this up. "High end" companies add random crap to their systems so they get slow over time. It forces people to get new phones. They cheeky scumbags. You can expect Samsung to do this(actually some random bloat has already been spotted in the marshmallow update) but Google tends to steer away from it. |
