Another reason I can think of is timezones not every admin might be at a convenient situation / space to manage to host a gst every month, a lot of admins might have to wake up at awkward hours, or might even wanna spend their week end with their family or friends. Admins haven’t signed up for the position to host gsts, correct me if I’m wrong but a gps job is to moderate and keep the game running smooth and fair, gst host is just an extra role they can pick up if they are willing? Maybe if there was an event management admin type of team that focus on hosting stuff, then it would be more reasonable to argue your point, that’s just my opinion anyways. They could probably then focus on rising the number of gsts hosted and maybe even host new diferente events to add more depth to the game as it’s so lacking at the moment. Dont’t get me wrong btw I do agree with you that the game is lacking in ambition, gameplay and overall content. I just don’t think people point their finger at the right people for it |

Sure there's other content involved in some of those events (halloween, nexus, easter to a degree) but the prime volume of new content is purchases. The monsoon thing is different. The carnival mini games need more variety at this point (not just a single seasonal event). The rare actual admin-hosted mini game is refreshing. GST, though, is the same every time. In fact spar in general is the same every time. What do you get? Bragging rights and a hat. Sure spar is entertaining to a certain cross section of the community, but even the most engaging game gets stale if the core aspect is repetitive. Mix it up. GST on ice. GST in a volcano. Heck, throw some of those barbed wire fences in there and give everyone a chance ahead of time to know what the arenas will be so they can practice. |

@Saber staff on hand shouldn’t be a problem whatsoever, if regular players are playing for 5 hours straight daily, it shouldn’t be troubling to ask someone who committed themselves to being a staff member to host something for 3 hours every 30 days. @4-Lom no, the GST is not something that players got bored of fundamentally where we need to make it into some goofy event. The competitive community in all three aspects, player killing, sparring, and towering, has lost a significant amount of its better players. Why? Because of negative updates like you’re recommending. Towering: 1k hats removed, every prominent player disappeared as there is no reason to do this anymore. Side effect: Activity completely died out in towers to the point where they removed three of them and still struggle to keep five players in one tower at any given moment. This is probably the most disappointing community of the three, updates really ran this one into the ground. PKing: Also a side effect of the tower updates, there are less players to kill in popular places like MoD fort, discouraging people from playing. Not to mention the sketchy recent updates that caused some kills not to count towards anything. Sparring/guildsparring: Removal of 6k/10k/20k win milestone hat rewards also removed a reason for newer players to spar actively. Making the GST seasonally rather than monthly, in addition to this, caused players to vanish for three months at a time, and eventually just disappear altogether to the point where every good old player is not playing anymore. Newer players are writing statuses about being sick of the GST down-time, and they will vanish soon as well. It’s sad that around GST time there are 100+ players guildsparring at a time, and after the GST ends it’s a flat zero. Why practice guildsparring or single sparring when the only major event is three months away? Incentives to play the game have been slowly stripped away to the point where nobody is adequately rewarded for anything competitive. The playerbase doubled from 2,000 to 4,000 online at peak hours, yet the competitive scene more than halved. Why? |

Because there is lack of developers. We have a very few number of developers who mainly focuses on updating hat shops, bot events and all the other factors of the game that makes players spend their gralats on. On their mind they believe focusing on those areas of the game will give them more $$$. But they're actually wrong, although either way the players data base is still increasing without them working on the competitive aspects of the game but focusing on selling items instead. I don't think they realize that actually working on the competitive aspects of the game too will increase their players data base even more. Less players will be quitting, more players will be joining the game, more active players then eventually those players will purchase the items that are being sold

I remember a time when most of the spar community claimed they were the only competitive part of iClassic. And by competitive I just mean playing and not staring at your screen all day. On-topic: Charge a $5-$20 entrance fee for the monthly GST and compensate the hosters. |

Don't remember who it was, I think Comyt. But getting rid of gst hats would imo make it easier to have a gst every month. Also the making of a personal hat for 1st place similar to guilds when they reached 1k hours doesn't sound like a bad idea. Also I think they should change the ways the teams are entered into brackets, the point system is pretty bad imo to determine who gets what seed. Would be cool to get in gst there was a pre qualifying gst to enter the actual tourney. Kinda like the World Cup how a bunch of teams play either throughout to see who makes it in the actual cup and can compete. Because lets say hosting gst every month is to much of a hassle for the staff, they could do a pre qualifying gst in the 2nd month. The only problem is that this would be a pretty long pre gst because the teams would have to play more then just like 3-5 games probably to get an accurate assessment of who should compete in the actual gst. Tbh I am just wondering how teams will actually be seeded when the ngs is finished, whether we actually do 1month gsts, or just in general how the brackets will work? |
