Yea, off of what Dusty said. The game spawns pokemon based upon cell usage collected by google maps. Areas with more usage, (Gas stations, restraunts, areas right out of no service zones) spawn a higher rate of pokemon while areas without high cell usage do not. Sucks for people like me though who live in rural areas, but it makes pokemon hunting even more rewarding.

So I just found out that there is a Tauros spawn somewhere near the park across from my house. I spent about an hour looking for it but couldn't find it (and it was dark so I couldn't really go any further than I would have liked to). The three footprints next to it would only remain at 3 so I can only assume that it is somewhere deeper in the park. Hoping that the spawn remains and I can find it sometime this weekend or tomorrow. I found a Clefairy, though, so it wasn't a complete waste of time. |

For those who see pokemon near them but don't know which way to walk, I have heard (but yet to test, will do so tomorrow) of a way to find where to walk. Select the pokemon of interest at the bottom right, and then turn your compass on. Slowly turn until a small green ping comes from the box at the bottom right, walk in that direction and the pings will get faster until you're on it.
