It'd be a big risk to invest a lot of your time into iZone. I mean, sure, it has a lot of potential and you can do a lot with its theme, but realistically the changes might only bring 100 new unique players - if the work is finished at all. If you do want to contribute, then by all means go for it. There's a lot of ideas in the Future Improvements sub-forum such as the One Month Long Mega-Event or The Network that are very inspirational concepts. |

Its not hard to get zone back on the right tracks actually. If weapons were redone to be harder hitting and 2.5x bullet speeds and gun freeze (like your average movement time should be around .15 seconds) we would have an entirely new game on our hands. That would be the driving stake that seperates era combat from zone combat and the two would be nothing alike. You would need to entirely relearn how to handle weapons. Then you just make places with huge battlefields like iricia and ctf automatic bot events that happen every time a battle ends and anyone can join in at anytime. You would be set, bang almost a whole new game on your hands.

Just kidding, though I agree, getting guns back on track would improve what the game already has by a lot. PvP/PvE is pretty much all you can do on Zone, guns being broken doesn't help. Still, a broader range of activities are needed to suit a larger playerbase. It's sort of funny though, the higher staff don't seem to give a **** about the quality of the server. The short term focus is events, which keep the players' attention, and the long term goals are the holidays shop, which keep players 'looking forward' to something and take their money. We can complain about aspects of Zone, but they won't listen because hey, it keeps us logging onto Zone. IMO they won't approve of any long term, productive commitments and concepts because they'd get in the way of holiday shops.

No not at all. In fact if this were to happen it would require making a new gun code from scratch, there are other people better qualified for the job, they can have it. Im only good at stats. The point of this thread is to see if everyone as a community wants to completely storm izone, and make it an open player project meaning ANYONE can contribute to the game and we fix the issues that staff wont cause staff is lazy as ****. Our staff would be like 5 people tops and they would just reciEve data, edit the data, then copypaste the data into the game. Sorta like project M but on a smaller scale.

They wouldn't change it to an open player project though, there wouldn't be enough guarantee or official commitment that projects would be completed in a timeframe/ever. |

Totally scrapping the server wouldn't be such a bad idea, but lets step out of fantasy for a moment. What about gralat purchases or player profiles in general? How would those be affected? Honestly, the server died for me a loooooong time ago and I'm yet to see this place actually impress me for once. |

Also keep in mind that this game is technically an open player project, just instead we pretend to be offical about it and have a staff team. I guarantee you that is not what stefan had in mind at all. What he had in mind was an open game community where anyone can contribute. Here the staff teams only job would be to edit data and copypaste into the game. |

I agree with all of this. What zone needs to do is create a new application for players to have an opportunity and hire more staff. advertisement on other servers would be great example aswell. Here is my idea to get zone back up and running. if one was to join zone they would receive a zone hat on there most played server. if they where to make a new application I would be applying to it.
