DRM doesn't just mean always on connection...

When you buy a game on Steam you buy the license, which is attached to your account, and you can download the game on other computers under your account.

Personal reasons. I forgot it was linked to my steam, but when I was 11 or 12 I was quite careless and forgot passwords often so I had like 3 different steam accounts for 3 different games.

Well that's your own fault not Steam's.  

Steam is DRM, but it's done well.

If Steam was in its younger days I could understand the dislike. However, these days it's a massive distribution platform with way more pros than cons. They're always offering insanely good deals on games, their DRM methods aren't that invasive, and they care about the gamers. And more importantly, given its size now and its library... its DRM is unified and consistent. I'd rather have one central distribution/gaming platform like Steam, than having 20 different games from different publishers with their own bull**** DRM. Even if Steam has DRM, it's one central DRM with all of your games.

Well that's your own fault not Steam's.

I never said it was Steam's fault (maybe I did, too lazy to check) but if games WERE like they used to be, I could still be enjoying my low-frame rate dragon slaying adventure. They should make 2 versions of games for now on. I didn't even know it was a Steam game until I downloaded it. Screw modern times. I want to go back to when I was younger

I don't mind steams DRM that much but it's not that unified when you think about all the games that add a secondary layer of DRM. Plus, their deals haven't been as great as they used to be. Now a lot of other companies are consistantly beating them out because steam doesn't need to have such good deals to attract people anymore. I like steam but if I have an option to buy a game DRM free at the same price I will do that.  

Of course, but how often do you find a DRM-free PC game these days? And if you had a choice between a $60 DRM-free game, or the same game for $30 on Steam, which sounds better?

No big titles end up DRM free, but I'll buy a lot of indie games from another provider then steam.  

Should I go out and buy this or is it still not working?  

We're still DRM free on current consoles in the sense that if we buy a physical game disc we can play it and take wherever we want offline or online.
Although online passes have already started popping up on popular titles like BF3 and Borderlands 2.
I have a feeling DRM is going to be a bit more strict on next gen consoles.

I don't get the hype for a game like this. Wait for titles like GTA 5, or the new consoles. Theres better things, and they aren't this DRM bull.

You're not going to get it unless you enjoy simulation games. Just like some people don't enjoy games like Grand Theft Auto because it just isn't their thing.

Well the DRM stuff aside, the Sim City series has been a staple in sim gaming.
Just because it doesn't come out on a yearly basis or have it's logo plastered on soda and chips doesn't mean it won't have some hype and people excited for it.
