Also I'm hoping they will keep the game balanced, so even if you could buy weapons with gralat packs, it isn't pay2win, because they should all be rather cheap and be for sale for variety, not for power. Once again, using tf2 as an example. You can just buy weapons with money, but none of them are overpowered even though some are rare. They are collected for fun. I see you're concerned with power creep. Running older missions would still give good amounts of gralats, I don't see why people would stop running it once new stuff gets released. They might play the new stuff more at first since its new, but people would play whatever they think is fun to get money. there's 2 keys to making a game fun. Having a challenge, and rewarding them for said challenge. |

I don't see it being a problem with Zone as long as they don't overprice weapons with the intent of them being more powerful like in Era. If they follow the rule to keep all guns below 10k, it's only a small loss if your gun gets nerfed, versus in Era where if your 200k noobstomp weapon gets nerfed you lost like 100 hours of grinding. Balancing guns isn't that hard either because they mainly deal with raw numbers. Also, are you sure lower level missions reward less money to high levels? I'm pretty sure it's just a diminish over time of some sort, because leveling provides no advantage whatsoever besides looking cool and being able to ride bikes at level 6. Naturally, those who hit level 6 played more so it gave their missions time to lose their value. |

EDIT: Jester confirmed. They do.
That's my main concern, you stated it perfectly, "power creeping." Or better yet "price creeping" but its not just with levels or damaging guns, its with a constant need for new missions/content. If there is no hard incentive to replay older content (as in the content is NOT balanced), the server will be caught in an endless cycle of perpetually releasing new content to satisfy the attention span of the players, and that is simply not sustainable. If they can keep the weapons (AND mission rewards) balanced and the prices relatively low, I don't see a reason why there will be a problem with power creeping though. Thats a big if, because we all know stefan needs people to buy gralat packs, and if everyone is willing to entirely devote their time to doing fun missions for money then that is a problem for him. So I can't see that balance happening.

I still don't like the idea of random finds thought, I'd rather play towards earning what I want rather than obtain some random item I don't care for. Especially without trading, one mans trash is another mans treasure. I might play 10 missions and get a bunch of hats. Some guy might actually want those hats, whereas I might want weapons. By using currency rather than random finds, players can work towards what they want, and know when they will get it. |

My concern is that working to earn enough money to buy a gun you have your eye set on will not work because of Stefan's pricing model. I obviously am a fan of RNG created drops because I feel that that way there is always a chance to get an item in game that might otherwise take an exorbitant amount of cash or time (due to Stefan's pricing) to obtain. I still think Valve has one of the best free to play systems with TF2, something that Graal as a whole should model in my opinion. |
