This is pretty awesomrme stuff! Im really interested in and curious how the finished version of that helmet will look and exactly how you achieved making something like that?
Did you record yourself making it at all? If not, you should start doing so as im sure that people would find some of these things helpful/informative/interesting. Could possibly even create a following from doing so.. ?
Also, get that wand stained already! I wanna see how closely it resembles the original! Though, i will say from the picture you showed.. the tip doesnt seem to match up that well in smoothness/roundness.. and the end/tip area looks to me like it could be thinned out a bit more to help replicate the original.

First off, thank you so much. As for the helmet, I'll say I got a template online. If you have a design in mind from a fairly well known film, game, or book franchise, you can often find templates if you search (name) pepakura template. After assembly (to where I got it to) you'd most commonly fiber glass-resin it to harden it and then put bondo on it. Bondo can make it lose detail so you have to be careful, as well as the possibility of cracking, etc.
Also I'd recommend sculpting and casting if you want something with more detail, ie. the Black Panther helmet from Civil War.
After Bondo, it's kind of up to you how you want to go around painting. I'm probably going to primer it, base coat, and then do the painting, and then battle damage. Unfortunately so far I haven't filmed myself doing anything.
For the wand, Unfortunately it isn't as accurate as I'd hoped for. I don't have the natural resources or tools to make it screen accurate as it's the first time I've done something with wood. I'll be sure to post more when I stain it.
