Graal the Adventure
30th August 2014 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gxyW7RCla0 Introduction This system has been designed as a direct replacement for Graal's Global Guild system, which has not been maintained properly for a number of years now. One of the main goals of this system is to eliminate multi-guilding issues on a competitive level, however the flexibility to create non-competitive or "Flavour of the Month" guilds is also offered. This Control Panel can be opened my quickly by saying the command '/g' which can be customised within the main Options menu. Those within an activated guild can set their desired tag either by using the Tag Selector item provided with the Control Panel, or by saying 'setguild NameOfGuildTag'. When using the setguild command, a guild name which contains spaces must be wrapped in quotes, "like this". Guild Activation Upon creating a new Guild it must first be approved by a member of staff in order for it to become activated. In addition to staff approval, it is also required to recruit a certain number of guild members before the tag can become wearable. These numbers vary according to the type of guild, which can be seen by browsing to the Guild Types tab. Upon member count decreasing below the required minimum, a Guild will become deactivated but will not face further penalty. Should it raise its number of members to the required minimum it will become re-activated. Multi-Guilding The amount of Guilds which can be joined varies according to guild type. While competitive Guilds are restricted to being able to join one only, non-competitive Guilds offer greater flexibility. The exact numbers can be seen by browsing to the Guild Types tab. As there are multiple guild types, a significant difference to global guilds is that you can create one guild of each type, though it is not possible to transfer guild leadership to a member who already leads a guild of the same type. When attempting to create or apply to a new Guild, your current pending applications will be factored in, which means you can not create a competitive guild when you have already applied to one. Guild Rights Information Similarly to global guilds, rights are assigned to a Guild Rank, which are then inherited by members of the relevant guild rank. Hierarchy also works in the same manner as global guilds, with it only being possible to affect members who are either part of a lower rank, or are part of the same rank but joined the guild at a later date. One right offered by this system is the ability to edit rights, however those with this privilege will only be able to modify rights which are enabled for their own rank. For example, if a rank is permitted to edit rights but not permitted to recruit, members of this rank will not be able to modify the recruitment right for other ranks. Another right offered by this system is the ability to remove players from the blacklist, which for global guilds is restricted to the Leader. All email addresses stored on this system are only viewable by members of the same guild. Global Guilds Policy Global guilds can be created within this system, however on the condition that the registrant is within the top two ranks of the global guild. When creating a new guild, both the guild's full name and tag are checked for a match with a global guild. For global guilds created in this system, it is not required that players be a member of the global guild in order to apply for membership. It is also possible to transfer leadership to a player who is not a member of the global guild. Recruitment Options Copied over from global guilds is the ability to set a password for membership applications, which if desired can effectively prevent applications from those who have not been given prior permission to join. In addition to passwords there are two other optional ways to restrict membership applications:
*The Guilds Control panel can be obtained within the building to the left of SuperNick's Battle Arena, aka the pyramid located in the North of Graal City Competitive Guild Prizes A thread detailing the ability for competitive guilds to obtain prizes can be seen here - http://www.graalians.com/forums/show...723#post583723 |

Graal the Adventure: Archery & Boomerang
18th December 2014 The first archery minigame has been released within the Graal City Castle, from which there are 2 prizes available. Talk to King Tristam or Commander Cyrus to begin. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13OtUkLDZpI For this mode points are obtained by shooting Gelats, which award their equivalent color value, so hitting a Gold Gelat is worth 100 Points. Be careful to avoid hitting Chickens, Baddies and Newbies, as these do not award points. There is also a limit on how many Arrows you can shoot. *Note the preview video does not fully reflect the final release. Archery also occurs within level instances in order to avoid multiplayer conflict. 16th January 2015 The second archery minigame has been released within Abermose's House, located in the East of Graal City. In addition to offering a special weapon as a prize, this mode of archery doubles up as a new form of monthly ranking, where those with the highest score of the month shall receive a trophy, statue, special guild tag, and have their character appear as an obstacle within the archery minigames. For this mode points are calculated from the time it takes to shoot all targets as well as your accuracy, failing to shoot all targets will result in a score of 0. It is required to first obtain the Wallet through questing in order to play this. Due to a change in the way we would like Gelat to work, everybody has been reset to the amount of Gelat they have obtained through Questing. It is also no longer possible to transfer Gelat between accounts, though Gelats can spawn from cutting bushes again. Boomerang https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2UsAfVMxSM Might this release somehow be of relevance to archery? |

Graal the Adventure: Guild Fort, Currency & Prizes
Introduction Pending a successful relaunch of Graal the Adventure on both the PC platform and Facebook/Flash, it is planned for competitive guilds to be able to obtain a Guild Points currency. An example of a prepared method for obtaining Guild Points is a revamped Mod Fort, which is currently prepared to work as follows:
With Guild Points it is possible to purchase guild prizes. The prizes which are currently prepared are as follows: Custom Tag Color https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMAjIg4qsbk Unlock the ability to set your guild tag to a customisable color. Upload Guild Logo Unlock the ability to upload a guild logo, which appears within guild information, on forts and points interface. Upload Guild Exclusive Graphics https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h4N4xa52bn8 Unlock the ability to upload outfit graphics that are exclusive to your guild members. Family Guild Alliance https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQCLndQnzeo Unlock the ability to form an alliance with a family guild, who will then not be able to damage your on tag members. This can be purchased multiple times for multiple alliances. |

Graal the Adventure: Facebook
For those who are not yet aware, approximately 4 months ago Classic/Graal the Adventure gained approval from both Carlito and Unixmad to eventually become launched on Facebook/Flash, -officially under the name of Graal the Adventure-, and this approval has since been re-iterated to me on multiple occasions. First I would like to apologise for the delay in providing an explanation as to what exactly is going on. The reason for the delay is simply that I am still yet to receive development access to the flash app, and therefore can not guarantee 100% that this shall go ahead, as I can not be sure how much fixes will be necessary. Last I heard there is a delay in upgrading the Facebook API to v2, which by pure coincidence of the result of my profession the PHP package for which is something I have recently become familiar with. Although I had taken about one hour to get the hang of it, I am not aware of the extent this requires re-working for Graal and I did find the documentation to be highly fragmented. Moving forward, my previous thread concerning guild prizes may demonstrate that our current primary development focus is towards bolstering the server's options for in-game transactions. I am however keen to bring some life back to the server throughout its ongoing downtime, and therefore propose the return of scheduled event hosting nights. When carried out beforehand, our event hosting nights yielded between 12 - 30 players. Although is is fair to say the server no longer has the advantage of hype and freshness, GC Tickets can once again be rewarded in order to obtain prizes, and Graal is now without the dreaded observer mode . It may also be good to carry out some test runs of the new fort system where successful participants can receive Guild Points. With this thread not being the grand announcement that I had initially planned, I thought I would squeeze this tiny little teaser in as well - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBRi2nnbqLk |

Don't hold your breath. Attachment 18482 Attachment 18483 I think just having it connected with FB is good enough. Server should be fun with a 30-60 player count.
