I'm an ex-story writer that was tasked with creating quests and such for Zone. While I was apart of it, I had thought of new systems and elements that could be added to enhance Zone and seperate it from the Zera image. however, as it stands, I feel like Zone is just becoming a waste of resources. Why? A lot of the content being put in is just bland while others are blatantly ripped (Casino yo). Skyworld bases are extra bland as they're very small rooms with little in ways of defense or strategy, on top of the lack of any passive defenses to add challenge ( such as bots, mines, etc.)
A lot of content being added really contains nothing of consistency as it's normally furniture, hats and little joke weapons. I feel as though even if I continued with what I was doing (Had a string of quests fleshed out with unique actions, enemies, abilities, etc.) it would have ultimately gone differently with minial creativity or completely scrapped altogether. Not because of the dev team; you guys are great, but I feel as though Tashkin would disapprove of a lot of and opt for something simpler yet closer to Era or Classic's feel.
I'm not trying to rip on Tash, but these are my thoughts and Matt, if you're reading this, then this is pretty much the reason why I just stopped bothering with it and disappeared.
Tl;dr Zone's direction is abhorrent and had has made me feel like tryig to help it would be pointless.
Also: Assuming it's fine, I can probably share some of my stuff that wasn't submitted or yet connected if you guys want. It wouldn't be a story, but a script detailing everything for how a quest would go.
