Aah, a good deal of the knowledge I've learned at my job (network management) has been from studying broken things and frantically trying to get stuff to work on the spot. School of hard knocks.

I had a similar problem with my wireless mouse. Every so often my mouse would stop responding and it wasn't a battery issue or anything. It took a while to find out that if my cellphone on my desk was sitting too close to the dongle(which is a large, horrible dongle with a range of like a foot) it caused interference.
