[TUT] How To Make A Head Using PS for the First Time
How To Make A Head Using Photoshop for the 1st Time 1) If you want to make an original head, and not use a file with a different head, you should use a template. This is a head template. http://www.graal.net/images/b/b5/Headtemplate.png (Unsupported image host) 2) Save the file to your desktop, or where[/URL]ver you want it, and call it (yourname)_head1.png. Then go to your desktop, or folder and open the file using Photoshop. 3) Once Photoshop has loaded, zoom in to the top of the file, where you should see the backside of a head. Then create a new layer by going to the taskbar at the top and click 'Layer' then 'New'. Let's name this layer 'Head'. Make sure this Layer is selected, by going to the layers list and clicking it. 4) Go to the color picker by clicking the box on the bottom left with a color. Do not choose #000000 of #ffffff, as these will turn out see through when uploaded. For complete guidelines, go to this site: http://graalmobile.blogspot.com/2011...uidelines.html 5) Once you have chosen a color close to #000000 that looks like black but is not complete black, you should go over the basic look of your template. Again, make sure you are on the layer 'Head'. Once you do that, you can make an outline of the hair you want to do on the back of the head. If you want to make a hat, then you make the back look of a hat. 6) Once you are done making the outline, fill it in with a color that you want your head to be. Again, open color picker and choose the color. Once you have your basic hair, you can start shading. Here is a really nice tutorial on shading, by kitted from DeviantArt.com: http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs14/f/2007/023/3/0/Pixel_Shading_Tutorial_by_kitted.png (Unsupported image host) 7)One of the biggest things that makes heads look horrible is when people do NOT shade their head. Once you have shaded your hair, you can do the skin. You should shade the skin, but not as much as the hair. Make sure the skin color is the same as the GraalOnline 'orange' color. 8) When you do a front or side view that includes an eye, shade the pupil of the eye. Also, do not make the eye a dot with white around it. When making your eye, do not use #ffffff, again, it will make it see through. - If you have any questions, please PM me in forum or reply in this thread. - If you have anything that I should add, please reply in this thread. - I'm sorry this tutorial does not have any pictures, but I did not have to make any right now, might add some later. - If you liked this tutorial, or it helped you, please +rep it. Thank You, Shaun

Want to make a head? Download one of the biggest photo editing packages. Wat. MS Paint is much better for the newcomer, couple it with IrfanView and you'll be making heads and setting transparency all on your own. People interested in making graphics compatible with graal may benefit from checking out my tutorial here: http://forums.graalonline.com/forums...hp?t=134262852 |
