And it's also about weeding out noobs. And it limits the number of events you can play; at least for dead broke people. Giving a free ticket for participating is a half-decent offset for the fee. But you have to pay for several events to be able to get a prize. At which point, its basically the same price as buying a hat at a shop, which is fair enough. But really imo, winning the event should pay out 5 or more tickets. So really it boils down to-- the only reason you should pay for events is a) if you are truly interested in the hats; or b) if you really think 150g is worth the 3min of entertainment of playing the event. |
