Hey guys, I've been writing this short little novel-story type thing. It really isn't an anime or manga, as there aren't any pictures except a few. It's more of a novel, but with an anime/manga perspective. Anyway, enjoy. Constructive criticism/feedback is always welcome. Previous chapters may be found here at FictionPress: Chapter 1 Chapter Two: Akari "Strange," Akari thought. "I don't remember the last time we had a sunny morning." He shrugged and began the walk down to school. He yawned. Probably shouldn't have stayed up late again reading about weapons, but what else did he have to do? He absolutely loved weapons of all sorts, ranging from bows and arrows, crossbows, and throwing spears to maces and pikes; but nothing could compare to his favorite weapon; the one-handed sword. He forged a custom blade for himself, in which he called Atrio. The blade was made of the finest titanium; lightweight but sturdy. The hilt was encrusted with beautiful sapphires and emeralds that shone brighter than a star... Boy, did he love that weapon. He broke out of his daydream trance and returned to reality. Unlike the others, he was quite down about school starting. He didn't have many friends, and the ones he did, were a grade above him. He sighed. "Akari?" What? He stopped and turned around. People usually don't interact with him due to his personality. Just viewing him by looks, you could tell that Akari was a very aloof guy; lone wolf characteristics. He never made many friends because of this. A cute girl with vibrant lavender hair and deep blue eyes crossed the street and made her way towards him. Akari was surprised. This girl looked familiar... Who was it? "Oh, wow, it's really you, isn't it?" The girl said in surprise, but he doubted she was any more surprised than him. He glanced at her ocean blue eyes. That's when the spark lit. "Rizel," he said. "Wow, I can't believe we're seeing each other again." He laughed for the first time in a while. Something about her made him happy... "Yeah, it's been a while! How've you been?" Rizel gushed with energy. "Been alright, nothing out of the ordinary." He mused. "Ah, that's not bad at least," she said. Her deep eyes glistened with fluorescence in the sunlight. His heart skipped a beat; she was beautiful. "Care to walk to school with me?" She asked. "S-sure," he stammered. He was surprised; he thought she would have forgotten about him. He was lucky, in any event, to have such a pretty girl walking with him to school. He smiled. ~ Rizel kept her eyes on Akari while they were walking. His distinct silver hair shone in the light; the red accents adding artistic value to it. He was wearing a black v-neck and a silver necklace with the accompanying cross. He looked wonderful. "So how was your break?" Akari asked. "It was fun! My family and I traveled a lot, saw new places, met new people," she said. "We had a wonderful time toge-" She paused. Akari looked troubled. "What's the matter?" she asked. "Oh, nothing," he shrugged, gave a hint of a smile, and they continued walking. Rizel hated when friends kept their problems to themselves; she had always been a psychologist-type friend that a lot of people trusted and could open up to. She stood square in front of him and put her hands on his shoulders and said, "Please, just tell me what's bothering you." Akari gazed into Rizel's eyes as she stopped him. Those hypnotic, deep blue eyes.. His thoughts trailed off. "Please, just tell me what's bothering you." Akari studied her. She had eyes that, by themselves, could incite love at first sight. Her hair, a light lavender color, complimented her face perfectly. She had a smile that would make an angel cry. She was breathtakingly pretty. Akari just couldn’t tell her about the tragic event that killed his whole family... The day in which a terrorist attacked the town… He shook his head and snapped back to reality. "Don't worry about it. I'm tired, is all," he said, lying to himself. "Oh. Alright." They continued walking, chatting lightly about their opinions in school and what not. Akari was explaining to her about his old school and home, and he was interrupted when Rizel had tripped on something. "Whoa, are you alright?" Akari asked. "Oh, yeah, I'm alright." Akari held out his hand to help her up. He pulled her up, and they continued walking, ten minutes away from campus. ~ "Oh, Akari," Rizel said. "Hmm?" "You're still holding my hand," she said. She blushed, and Akari gave a little laugh and apologized. As they reached the campus, Rizel's mind was on one thing. That dark blue emblem on his shirt sleeve.
