Well no ****. Do you want it so everybody can "own" together? Because that is the most illogical thing ever. The best players will "own" the most and the players that are not as good/equipped as good as the competition will not own. Don't understand how you could complain about that because the is the premise of nearly every game I have played. Solitaire, Halo, CoD, BF4, Bejeweled, Mario, Pac-man, Titanfall, Zelda, ect. Any player can get kills on era, sure it can be hard for the underequiped noobs, but "owning" in a video game is not supposed to be a guaranteed thing. It is supposed to be something you can only pull of if you are really lucky, skilled, or prepared. (in other words, this MLG pro you speak of) |

This thread is laughable. Both servers are too different to compare, and are designed to cater to different types of players. Graphics-wise, I agree that Classic has a more coherent style, as would be expected when you look at their talented graphics team members. As far as gameplay content goes, I think Classic has a better approach than we do at iEra in that their developers are encouraged to focus on quality over quantity. iEra has (in my opinion) fallen into a lapse of comfort in that many of our developers think that releases of new hats and holiday shops is content, and this is a cycle that some of us in the team are actively trying to break (see my quest projects, Era Countryside, etc). It is difficult however, due to the general lack of scripting ability. iEra currently has around about 4 developers who I would even consider "Good", bear in mind none of us (both iEra and, as far as I know, Classic staff) are paid for any work we do on a server, and therefore tend to prioritise our lives (work/university/life in general) over Graal. I guess what I'm trying to say is that bear in mind that all of the staffmembers actively working to provide content are doing it 100% for free, out of the goodness of their heart, so you can't really expect the same quality and quantity as you would from a commercial game studio. That's an error caused by the entire business model that graal uses. I agree with rufus that both servers could use improvements, and I believe that we, as developers should always be striving to make the game as fun as possible for players, but bear in mind we do have to prioritise other things over a volunteer "job". |

Not criticizing, but I'm not gonna make myself look like an idiot by saying Zone is a fantastic server with tons of fun things to do. Just saying its obviously under developed and has a ton of work to be done. I'm also not implying that the current staff are lazy or not talented, a good portion of staff there work their asses off trying to improve the server. |

Both of the games have their quirks, but I would have to say Classic. Era requires money for so many things whether it's repairing weapons, putting gas in your car, buying a weapon, revival potion, etc. The methods of earning money are more fun and in larger variety than Classic, but to cover all the things I just mentioned you would have to play a lot to earn all that money. Classic really only requires money for houses and your appearance which isn't a necessity. Furthermore, everyone is on the same playing field for weapons strength. Not trying to mimic Gun Gale here, but if lightsabers were easier to obtain, I would definitely play more. I liked using swords on Era and lightsabers (if I remember correctly) being able to deflect bullets give a fighting chance against guns. Yet, they are only available to the players who spend a good quantity of their time playing/winning events. The playerbase on Era is pretty immature for another thing. I wouldn't want to make friends on there. Every time I go on people are rude and especially gassy when they kill you. Classic's isn't perfect either, but I mean come on. Era and Classic both have sparring arenas, but I really think Era's is a joke. Being put in that small arena with bullets flying in all directions. Maybe that would be fun if players were only given a simple handgun like a magnum or something. Again, I haven't played in awhile so I'm going by what I remember. These are just some of my main concerns with Era. I'm not taking Classic's side as I could care less since I left it and only come back for occasional visits. |
