I normally don't feel qualified to weigh in about politics, but from what I've gathered, the executive order has been temporarily halted after being sued by the Attorney General of Washington state. There isn't much new that has happened in the last few days as we are awaiting the case to start. sorry if any of this is wrong |

I think the law that Trump used is unconstitutional because it provides limitless authority to break any law due to national security. It doesn't provide any place to test what qualifies as national security. That's why the court system is doing its job and checking the executive branch and its use of power.

What would you consider American citizens having their heads cut off and shown to everyone on video? Are you not going to count it as terrorism because it didn't happen on US soil but instead has happened in some of the countries on that list? It's a 90-day travel ban and 120-day refugee ban and there is definitely reasoning behind it, he has in the works plans to fight terrorism over there and also working on the vetting system the US currently has in place. Surely you can see why he is not going to allow people in when he declares these kinds of changes. |

Whenever I think of issues like these, concerning who can come into the U.S., I think of the whole land of the free and opportunity bit. We're supposed to be a place where people can make a better life for themselves. However, I do think that there should be a better filter for people coming in than what we have now. I'm not super knowledgeable of all the circumstances around these issues, but this is just my opinion. People who come into the U.S. illegally sometimes are just looking for a better life, and some have very different intentions. However, keeping all of them out isn't exactly fair to those who come and work hard and have made good choices. I wish there was some sort of system for that, but it's hard to check someone's intentions. On another note, changes can still be made to Trump's decision. I'm not in favor of Trump or this decision in general, but it can be changed and edited to be a better filter. (example: they changed it so that green-card holders aren't affected by the ban) By the way I didn't really read a lot of the posts above this so sorry if this has already been said or annoys all of you |

Obama uses questionable executive orders-- everyone's like "wait, he can do that?..", but for the most part everyone lets it slide. Trump uses questionable executive orders-- massive protests and unrelenting backlash; the number of times he's called a "racist" multiplies; issue is brought to court IMO the only mistake made in the order was giving preference to Christian refugees over Muslims Not sure if this is even true; only worsens the political statement people perceive; doesnt make logical sense; theres no way to objectively distinguish religion; and its kinda a 1st amendment issue. |

And how unfair is it for people that want to leave their country because of war and you guys just closing your doors because you don't want a terrorist to be one of them.In Germany, in 2016, over 1.1 milion refugees we're allowed and not one terrorist attack from one of them. These guys are just trying to find a life for themselves and for their kids and you guys just act selfish, they are in hell while you guys are on your couch watching tv. |
