Angry Birds Space + Honest Review
http://i.usatoday.net/tech/_photos/2012/03/21/Angry-Birds-Space-lifts-off-OS16A663-x-large.jpg (Unsupported image host)
Angry Birds has been through crazy adventures... From the original to the crazy Rio theme, the birds are given a 4th shot.. IN SPACE!!! Well, before the game was released: The introduction movie was released on youtube.. Which looks amazing and animated perfectly However, in Angry Birds Space: This introduction doesn't happen. Instead, it gives you an option button on the bottom right if you want to watch it. Thats a really disappointing feature that would've been nice rather than needing internet to connect and watch the video.. The gameplay is just like Angry birds except with a surprising twist: Manipulating Gravity! (I don't know how its called but eh..) In space, you can orbit around planets, float and break objects, and get rid of the nasty pigs who stole your eggs (Yep... again..) The total game is a total of 95 levels (i guess) -60 in-game levels that follows the story of Angry Birds Space -a 30 level danger zone thats supposed to be a hard course (costs a dollar) -5 secret levels obtained by finding Golden Eggs http://cdn.pocket-lint.com/images/FzsT/angry-birds-space-game-launches-2.jpg?20120322-094135 (Unsupported image host) Its your typical Angry birds: Nothing fresh or new but a few changes in gameplay through space and gravity. Angry Birds Space confirmed 6 new birds to be in the game but we only got one: The ice bird which can make hard solid objects being able to break.. Hopefully, we can see the other five in future updates.. http://cdn.pocket-lint.com/images/FzsK/angry-birds-space-game-launches-3.jpg?20120322-094135 (Unsupported image host) The rest of the birds are same as usual but with a few changes like the Speedy bird (Now the Lazer bird) dashing in at the direction you tapped and the Orange/Green bird (Now known as Terrence) which now instead of being inflatable, can smash through rocks and woods without knockback. Space eagles can now be obtained in gameplay aswell as app purchases: Making hard levels now look like a cakewalk http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/FCKEditorFiles//out-next-week-angry-birds-space.jpg (Unsupported image host) At the end of each planet is a boss battle, which requires flicking objects straight back at the king pig. If you're an Angry birds expert, you'd knock out the king pig with one or two birds... And leave sad with a disappointing ending at the end of the second planet.. My opinion.. http://7.mshcdn.com/wp-content/gallery/angry-birds-space/screenshot2.jpg (Unsupported image host) Angry Birds Space is like the Call of Duty Modern Warfare Franchise: You pick up a new copy of the game due to a new gimmick, but then it feels like Deja vu and repetitive: Same case here. I'd recommend only to those who appreciate the angry birds fans try this one out and let others know their honest opinion... But for the others, i think its a hard buy in my opinion... Your call.. 7.0 Decent/Solid |

You rate a game for what it is, not for what other games are. Numbers are starting to mean less and less in this day and age, not because of the foundation they're built upon, but because most reviews bull**** around it. I much prefer reviews that also provide pros/cons along with a rating. For example, why would you rate a game like this on the same grading scale as a $60 game with a multi-billion dollar budget, that caters to an entirely different type of player? So why say, "This game doesn't deserve an 8/10 because there are much better games designed as actual games for 'hardcore' players out there" when it's 1) a totally different genre. Does a 9/10 score for a Final Fantasy game matter to someone who only likes FPS games? Does that make a FF game any less deserving of a 9/10 because so? 2) It's a cheap game. Ya, it doesn't compare to console titles, but it's also just a fraction of the same price, and sometimes FREE. Eventually as the price of a game starts dropping, that game that started out at $60 with a 6/10 score starts looking way more appealing when it eventually hits $20. 3) Believe it or not, sometimes these games really are just fun ways to kill a few minutes without feeling obligated to a game. |

I kind of agree with Dusty. Sure they are both widely successful games (Angry Birds and CoD) but they are in no way similar at all to be compared. What if I didn't buy the game because of a new "gimmick" and I'm just a loyal fan of the series? ._. |
