You can make a Zelda/Pokemon clone (VX Ace for now) using RPG Maker. I recommend you to make it unique, different GUI, sounds and graphic (not generated) if you want to sell it and make profit.  

If you're going to make a game with rpgmaker with the idea of making profit then don't use public plugins other people have made(or get permission from the creator to use it for profit).
They usually do not allow people to use their plugins for commercial use.  

rpg maker was my first game engine to ever work with I love xp and vx ace above all.
Mv seems to have a lot of potential I heard you can even port it to ios!
saw a lot of bad reviews upon release so I strayed away from it.

To be realistic here, I'd say it is incredibly difficult to make any profit from a game made with RPG Maker. The games like that already have an incredibly small market to appeal to (retro RPG lovers) and games that were made with RPG Maker already have a negative stigma in Steam Greenlight.

I might be wrong though, you have this forum here where i'm sure a lot of people would give your game a chance if you promote it right and it's actually good. And yeah, obviously the game would have to be insanely good for it to get anywhere.

Don't want to discourage you or sound like im ****ting on your dreams lol, but you will have a lot more fun doing this for the experience and trying to pick up something new rather than trying to make some gralats.

last time I checked (atleast for vx ace)
you can use all of the default graphics and sounds if you are selling your product.
just wouldn't look good and wouldn't sell well.  

i got this in june, haven't used it ever since(was too busy irl). but i might get back to it.

tbh i'll spend whatever time i have, only if i could make it like graal. seems hard though.
might be better off learning Solarus.

but as for steam workshop most of them allowed it for commercial use, they wrote it on descriptions about who owns it, where to use it etc etc.  

yanfly plug in can be used for commercial use, her site has all of the best plug in anyways.



There is a game made with rpg maker called corpse party the game was so good and got so popular they made an anime out of it  

If you're going to do something that's not an RPG then why not use some other engine that's designed to be flexible and make a variety of games instead of hacking yourself around the limitations of an RPG engine?

Oh! RPG! is quite successful.

Echoes of Aetheria - Not sure how commercially successful it's been but it's a wonderful game.

Terra Incognita did okay for an RPG Maker game.

There are also a few games that were made long before this new wave of RPG Maker use, before Steam was popular etc, that were crazy good but were free to download. Game's like the Legion Saga series (RPG Maker versions of Konami's Suikoden), The Way, Tales of the Drunken Paladin

Definitely check out Tales of the Drunken Paladin.

Some of the best games aren't necessarily ones that you have to pay for.

Zeboy'd engine is not RPG Maker, but it's pretty damn close. If you look at a lot of his games, e.g. Breath of Death, Cthulu Saves the World, the P.A games, you can see that his engine is very very similar and likely runs the same except that he controls the source code and can expand and change features. His games are super successful and they're basically RPG Maker games except that they have slightly different features, which could all be replicated through plugins anyway.  

Is it possible to have the combat and movement system graal has in an RPG MV game? I know there are scripts for that and that, but the more I search the less I found.

It's possible, you might find it along the lines of "openworld combat" or something like that  

dunno if it exists in english, but Vampires Dawn was really cool
