The sprites and whatnot are still flat, but terrain maps themselves are done using a flat surface that has been converted into a wireframe mesh. Problem is, only crazy people like me and a few others take the time to deal with it because 3D in a 2D environment gets really weird and often frustrating. |

Which if it is using 3D(like say, Ragnorak Online which is an example of an online MMO that is 2.5D, I think), she could have picked a MUCH better screenshot to illustrate her point. |

I was mostly just replying to your "Graal is 2D" statement because that's only partly true. Graal in general does have some 3D elements, but they're seldom used since it can get very complicated once you add that extra dimension. Aside from terrain maps, it's also possible to draw polygons as well, though their practical uses are very limited. |

It's talking about Graal3D elements specifically, which were present in older versions of the client and Graal3D server. (Which is why we eventually got the Graal3D Christmas Preview that took a lot more disk space to install.) The stuff I'm talking about is still present and working just fine. |

I mean, even if it was centered around a SQLdb instead of a DBNPC, you are talking about a good amount of resources. Sounds like an upgrade to me. Well played Zone, well played. |

how about we start something- Spread the Graal Word. Take your favorite server, and tell friends to play it, Maybe server owners can make discount offers for a limited time- like guns half off for a week, or something like that if that could be done.( it's also an excuse to get awesome guns for low price, as you know, being a noob nowadays is a lot harder to get money, and half the time anybody who starts the game quits.) Make the beginning of the game more like a gimmick, idk. Classic, I realize, would be a little different. Maybe make a limited edition Horse to ride. |

Or, make all objects discount depending on playing time. For example, if a gun costs $4,000 right now, for someone with 10 hours; the cost would be 2,000. But for someone with 1k hours, it would be $3,000. And for someone with over 5k hours, it would be the full price. However, not big leaps like that for every few 000's. Like if you have 212 hours, the cost may be 2,200. Each hour of playing, the required gralats increases slightly. This gives new players a chance to get everything they need. But I also understand the above option would create problems and complainers about how they've played so long they should get a discount. Just thought I'd mention the idea |
