I think most people over analysis GST/sparring and are blind to see that it's all about getting better. I've heard so many crazy theories/breakdowns and sometimes I think people love talking about GST vs actually just getting better at it.

but because u brought up the topic, the only things i dislike are people who don't 1vs1 spar often and think GST is the only important thing. |

I think Eko and I did exceptionally well this time around, I just wish there was a video so I could confirm that. I do agree it doesn't even feel like GST when nobody recorded + it came and went so fast. Also feels like nobody really cared this time around which makes me a little bitter because mixed is pretty competitive, but people think because we usually win that we have to put 0 effort in to win it which isn't true. I agree with James tho. People tend to overanalyze this and forget that it's pretty simple and comes down just to how good you and your team are. |

i think all teams played well in gst, with some teams playing better than others, certain teams got slightlt lucky (DoT included) alumni deserved to win, eko killed it out there, i dont personally think that all this hate on certain sparrers is really needed, i can understand the hate towards certain sparrers about how they come across, but with defencive sparring against offence, defensive is fine when it comes to survive and stuff, but as long as you get enough hits as 'staying alive the whole round' isnt true with both of these methods, getting more than 6 hits is really the main goal, this means that you've done the damage needed, anymore hits are just bonus's, the better sparrers amoung us can swap between these styles, with being able to react to certain situations, mastering both of these methods i would say is the 'god tier' of sparring, i dont personally think that anyone has done this, i think people are suprisingly good at both, but nowhere near mastery. Personally id say sparring is evolving, new players everyday are joinging bigger teams and getting themselves known, and smaller teams getting themselves known, i enjoyed this gst, and with it not being recorded is fine by me, but i think the staff should have a recording of all games. just my opinions Thanks, Dia |

^^^ admins pls agreed, viewing rooms are choppy asf and u can tell that by my old gst vids. i can already visualize how it went without me being physically in there. and i don't like recording mixed anymore cus they can record themselves + idev is much more intense with ironic/dramatic outcomes. |

I don't think recording the viewers is that big of a deal, it's obviously not as smooth but it at least allows you to see what goes on and make an assessment of hit scores and whatnot

As an editor I wouldn't dare edit the viewing room. |

As long as he has that "bad ratio" he will never find validation as a "legendary sparrer" so he needs something legit that will back up his claim/want to be legendary. He doesn't care about his ratio, so he wouldn't have a problem losing a lot while trying to reach legendary status. So a ranking system would be the only way he could find validation. I still love you hikaru ![]()
You should start your own version of ESPN and hire yourself a production crew. Spar highlights 24/7. |

It is though, it definitely has the more consistent teams If Blackout or WAR/Apostles were able to enter the iDevice tournament, they'd have won it every time But I know that once Alumni stops participating, people will dismiss it as "they just got a lot of free wins, it was easy XD" Although, as more players begin to play and as more sparrers improve, GSTs only get more difficult to win, especially when you make a commitment to not changing your team GSTs started becoming more competitive in 2012, at least that's my view as someone who played casually starting in 2011 and didn't care to enter them until 2013 |

Consistent teams...Obviously when there's only like 4 decent guilds out of 32 guilds they're likely to go far especially through the high score all of the "good" guilds get they'll not face off till QF/SF so it's consistent...Whereas in iDevice there's much more competition probably about 8-10 great teams in iDevice plus them teams are all so similar in skill level that it makes iDevice so much entertaining to watch and unpredictable. |
