If they could some how make Pokemmo into an app for iOS or androids, that'd be ****ing amazing.

A lot still doesn't work though, a lot of things like the elite 4, sounds, and other stuff have to be scripted, and supposedly a lot has been done over the past few months.

Well that's because roms are only providing resources, they still have to make the actual game; just instead of ripping all the graphics, all the sounds and then recreating the levels and stuff they just grab it all from the rom directly. There are already plenty of pokemon game editors that practically recreate the entire game using rom data and then let you edit it. They're essentially doing the same thing except letting you play with the data that's grabbed. They have to recreate the engine to interpret all of said data though.

A good indication of this is how you need the SoulSilver/HeartGold rom to have a pokemon follow you -- they're the only games that have all the sprites for pokemon following your sprite.

Couldn't this be done on iOS the same way people get the emulators and ROM's on their iDevices? I myself have played pokemon on my itouch, idunno if it would be that easy, lol

I'm pretty sure using roms is legal, so thats why this might not be taken down. But if they try to put it on ios illegally that's a completely different story. It should stay on pc just to be safe.

Maybe if it was free to play or sponsored by Nintendo, it wouldn't really be a problem.

Nintendo have said they will not sponsor it because they believe it show be a Nintendo only game, and not be cross platform.

Nintendo: Refusing money since the release of iPod gaming. It's not like they need it though. It'd be nice to have.

I think they are trying to get round the legal issues, but if they can't, they will improve the pc version as much as possible and then try again for an app version

If I were Nintendo, I wouldn't really have a problem with some fans making a free to play MMO. Hell, it's free publicity.

it's like how graal had to change its name from Zelda online to graal online....

I would support them to if I was Nintendo but I don't think they are at this moment

Pokemon, zelda and Mario to Nintendo and like halo to Microsoft. I doubt they will allow it on a different platform. They would be better off doing what other apps do and just make up their own name and pokemon then make a MMO app
