Fall GST 2016 Megathread - 5

Can confirm I'm not doing Whitebeard/IoB if anyone's wondering. Might've considered it but I wasn't really asked and I'm not interested in being on a sub or 2nd team. If that's my options I'll just join/make a random team for fun.

Not sure if Holy's doing it, but then again nobody's really sure themselves until like a week before most GSTs, so who knows... If the same team does it, I agree that Mish should be core, she's very, very good at GS. I don't think there's many other players I've seen who can conserve health as much as her and still do damage. I swear every time she GSes she's alive at the end with 2.5-3 health.

Other than that, I definitely think Whitebeard seems strong but there's a lot of really good PC players that aren't committed or at least aren't saying anything, so who knows what other teams pop up in the next couple weeks.

@Kuz, build the wall goes like 1:2 at belle with their core and thats being generous. Plus sarah will just get 15 hits against them again

I think the BTW team is being judged pretty fairly, people have them going to semis… That's far.

Also have to take into consideration that Dark and Kawu (assuming both on RD) would have beaten Deicide last GST with teammates like Sour and Nattie… Nattie just had to tie it out instead of engage a spar when she was up 1.5 vs. 1.0 and they'd have won. Bello has also been doing pretty decent in recent GSTs and that's with them using people like Tenchu, David Mamba, Toni Mamba, etc. Not saying any of those guys are bad at all, but Dark, Mex, Cally, and Kicko (still not sure which are on the team) are all upgrades. So, I'd be pretty surprised if RD just flopped and lost before the semis unless they face a really strong team.

Edit: Oh, vDragz actually beat them regardless of the Nattie round… Didn't remember that, just noticed.

And if Holy isn't doing it then Mixed kind of deteriorates into clown fiesta territory. People like David, Dante, Brett, eko (?), and… others not doing it, that's a bunch of people out of the top 10 or top 5 Mixed GSers.

Well, I've talked to a few of the normal core and nobody seems to know yet. But that's been my experience asking them in every GST, so we'll see what happens.

Not to say that those members who are active can't still join other teams as well. Also, I'm guessing you probably know more about Alumni members than I do, but I swear Dante and I thought David at least have both said they're doing it with different teams. Maybe someone can correct me?

No idea if we are doing it or not, probably won't participate if we dont. Edit: Nvm shouldn't talk in absolutes, anything could happen.

Haven't seen any of the teams this year, but the usuals that get hats probably will on mixed side. If we don't go this year should be an interesting lil scuffle for the top 3 spots. Could see some upsets.

Hmm idk I'm just basing it of last GST...alot could have changed since then idk.

Anyway if Holy aren't doing Mixed then it's between Whitebeard and SLX.

Nah neither of us are doing it.

No idea what any team consists of so it's really hard to make a prediction at this point. Teams become obvious when it gets closer to gst so I'll hold off on making a solid prediction till then.

judging from last gst. i'd say some 'average' players have become very solid and some old gsers have lost their grips. it's just that alumni covered everything up for last 2 years by placing the top, but seeing the inconsistency in 2nd-4th place battle shows how unstable it is.

now that alumni is done(?) participating. it's up to someone who can bring a good mixture of new solid players with oldbies. And this goes for idevice side as well.

A lot of average gsers like me have improved.
Look at denny for example hes extremely consistent now.
