Pkers are also horrendus. Took me 15 minutes to get to the mining shop from the cemetary cause **** bags block the enterance to it and routes leading to it spamming there machine guns. When i get there i buy 2 picks. Go mining and then spend 30 minutes doing that **** then takes me another 15 ****ing minutes to get into the ****ing shop and what do i get? 900$. **** this game. Also @meph. Guns are not balanced at all. Its pretty much machine gun beats all at this point and theres a very very very heavy amount of this guns more expensive therefore its better BS goin round. If the guns were balanced, then all guns including the starters would be competing with the Machine gun. |

I am also laughing at the spar system, why not add a Spar Gun/Bow everyone automatically uses? So they do the same damage and stuff, makes it much more appealing. It's funny seeing someone go buy the best gun and use it to kill new players with starter weapons.

i personally think it's more like delteria rather than era cx.. but yea.. there's too many bandits.. and add the players pking.. not very suitable for surviving ; u ; i also think they should have a good distance around the graveyard where you can't pk, so you have a chance to escape xD i still like it though o: exceptthatialreadygotjailed. twice today already .. for "frame rate hacking" but i guess it may seem like it.. but it was facebook lag :c and they need to fix the identify thingy.. it won't send an email to verify my email and i already checked my spam folder :c my favorite bug is when you sneeze c: and then poof! you disappear xD seriouslythough.breakmeoutofjailplease. |

At first I thought this is exactly like era but just reskinned. But then I figured it out, Ol' West could be the city of era but a century back! The bridge upgraded from a railway to a Modern bridge for cars, the buildings were modernized to brick instead of wood, etc. Ol' West will be a great server if it does not make the mistakes era did. Such are: Releasing OP guns that made players quit sparring because dodging was forgotten. Giving away event coins (aka HS on this server) for free. Nerfing jobs slowly and making new guns cost more and more. I very much hope that Ol' West will not repeat Era's history, that way the server will turn out very good. |

But it's not the fault of the stats. You see, I adjusted these guns with a faster walk speed in mind. To compare apples to apples, here's the current top-dollar items, all $3,000: The Repeating Rifle has the vulnerability of high freeze(0.24) and a lengthy reload(0.80), but the benefit of a high fire rate(0.30) and clip capacity (16). It deals 6 damage. The Pearl is the polar opposite. The Pearl has the vulnerability of a slow fire rate(0.70) and a low clip capacity (6), but the benefit of a low freeze (0.20) and quick reload (0.45). It deals 7 damage. The IndianBow is somewhere in between. It's got average freeze (0.22), average fire rate (0.60), average reload (0.60), and mid-level clip size (10). It deals 7 damage. They've been extensively tested, and balanced at a walk speed of 0.70. I'm not concerned for how they perform at the slow walk speed we currently have. Over 75% of the skill in this type of game is in one's ability to dodge bullets. I'm not going to adjust gun stats around a walk speed that limits the game's competitive potential, and restricts gun variability. At such a slow walk speed, the only gun stats that really "shine" are fire rate, and damage. The other stats that increase mobility(freeze, reload freeze) are practically worthless because of the limitations on dodging at this speed. iEra is a classic example. They dicked around 2 years before they got the sense to increase the walk speed. By that time, damage had been done. The developers were so uneducated on gun stats that they truly believed that Fire Rate and damage were the only ways to make a gun shine. Again- On Ol West, I'm going with the faith that they will soon increase the walk speed to allow the other stats to shine. I refuse to work on a server that neglects the stats that benefit bullet dodging. If they don't add the speed boost, I don't want to work here. There's no sense in working for a server that wants sub-par gameplay. It'd be like a asking a master architect to build a skyscraper with tomato soup. Not happening. Assuming they do increase the walk speed, and give me some real materials to work with, here's the plan: Rifles Strengths: Fire rate and clip capacity. Weaknesses: Freeze and reload time. Pistols Strengths: Freeze and reload time. Weaknesses: Fire rate and clip capacity. Shotguns Strengths: Multiple bullets fired. Weaknesses: Fire rate, freeze, clip capacity, reload time. Spears Strengths: Longer projectile can threaten or isolate an area 3x longer than a regular bullet. Weaknesses: Fire rate, clip capacity. Bows, throwing hatchets Strengths: Possibility of adding effects later on (poison arrows, etc.), freeze, and clip capacity. Weaknesses: Fire rate, reload time. Feathers Strengths: Lightweight; so they'll have the lowest freeze and quickest reloads. Weaknesses: lower damage. So yeah- the Repeating Rifle's dominating should be temporary. With a faster walk speed (0.70 instead of the current 0.60), all guns will be able to compete, because the benefit of increased fire rate on the rifles(such as the $3,000 Repeating Rifle) comes with the vulnerability of more freeze. This vulnerability will be easily countered by somebody with a gun of lesser freeze; as they'll be able to better put dodging into practice. |

i just did the math and figured out the kill times. im not sure about the shotgun but im willing to bet a lot that its easily the slowest killing gun in the game unless it stacks. Starter- 8 seconds 44 colt- 6.3 sec pearl- 5.6 sec machine gun- 2.88 sec i really don't care what the walk speed is. But lets go into theory here. So no moving, fire at same time, all shots hit no matter what. Machine gun will beat any gun by a longshot. All of the guns need to be buffed up to the machine gun when it comes to damage, the whole freeze and crap can wait until kill times are done. These are more important than anything, no arguing. Also the time to kill gap is easily as bad than era. The gap is about 5.12 seconds between high time to low time. Eras is 5.8 and zones is 1.635. What the **** ol west? Here is how tedious this is in theory if we were to try to get everything to keep their ROF stats and what not but increase the damage to be on par with machine gun Starter- BUff it up to 10, 4 seconds Colt 44- Buff it up to 13, 3.2 seconds Pearl revolver- buff it up to 15, 2.8 sec Machine Gun- 2.88 sec. With the edits i made, i closed the gap to 1.12 seconds. All guns would be able to defend themselves and stand a chance against a top teir weapon. Now in theory the pearl is the best gun. However while it may be the fastest kill, it could suffer from horrible manuverability. The guns should be rebalanced around the damages i posted. |
