It's sad comparing the era section to classics. They don't ask for this kind of stuff. They ask for actual server updates. I am now realizing its not era that's having trouble, but the community. You guys cry over the smallest things.

PKing isn't a job, you're right. Basing is too flawed to warrant a cash reward. It's simply too easy to capture a base when you've got numbers on your side. I can't emphasize how annoyed I am when people B-Line for the chest without even attempting to PK. That kind of behavior and neglect for the art of PKing shouldn't be rewarded. It's bad enough that we've got BARs and PBPs in the equation. Basing should have more emphasis on PKing, and not simply who can melee a chest the fastest. I can't say that I base, but I do spend a lot of time in bases. I do what we used to call 'raiding'-- I go in a base with no intention of taking the chest. I go in to take on multiple opponents at a time; which takes much more skill than just meleeing a chest. Unfortunately this "outnumber your opponents and take over the chest" mentality is encouraged on iEra. People respawn immediately outside of the base, fully healed. They're back in the action within 15 seconds, so letting a gang actually 'control' a base with power isn't even possible, because even if they repeatedly kill the opposition, they're not given much time to breathe, or savor victory. And if you're outnumbered, forget it. Before creating any reward for chest takeovers, I'd propose a respawn point remote from the base, this way the flood of incoming opponents can at least be moderated. Additionally, people will more resistant to give up a death, knowing they'll have to wait about 45 seconds to get to the base, instead of the 15 seconds it takes now. And the reward shouldn't be money. 'Gang points' should be rewarded for gang activities. This includes takeovers, winning gang spars, killing opposing gangs, etc. Once the "chest bases" are fixed, they should only be the first stage of basing. Gangs should be rewarded for kicking ass. They should be able to rack up enough points to get a larger 'gang base', that's theirs as long as they have the points to maintain it. Such a base should have upgrades, also purchased with gang points. Of course, every "EBIZAOU LOVE" gang shouldn't have a base, so I'd place a limit of Tier 2 Bases on iEra to about 10-- the top 10 gangs get rewarded with a Tier 2 base, if they wish to put the points in for it. Of course, other gangs could raid it, and get points for raiding it. So the 'owner' gang would have to defend it. This would give iEra gangs something that Era PC had years ago-- Ownership and Responsibility. Right now, people run around with this idea of "I don't care, I'll just raid another base when I get beaten". If you're so good, prove it by maintaining your own base. Keep opponents out of your base. See how you do without a chest to hide behind. This is where PK skill shines through and the weaker gangs are really showcased. Additionally, overpowering another gang with PK Skill shows more superiority than b-lining a chest. |

Brilliant. I hope we actually get to see this or at least some version of it. Now that I think about it, what would be really cool, is to give each Top 5 gang a set number of points (10k for example) and make those gang activities be rewarded, such as an attacking gang winning points but subtract those points from the defending gang, like money in poker. Like when an attacker and defender go head to head within the base, the winner should get a point from the losing gang. Gang with the most points wins and rules Era. I hope I'm explaining this clearly enough. This would rock the entire game if it could be sorted out.

Digging if you ask me is one of the worst jobs to make profit from because you spend to much on shovels. Now get your shovels free now thats a whole different story. Body parts definitaly need to be boosted big time. If body parts are boosted then i would not have even bothered to make this thread. Meph you clearly have not seen the true power behind the bar and pbp if your complaining about rushers. As annoying as they are they are now a part of iera and nothing will stop the flag rushing noobs. nothing at all. There is a way to combat them. Pu people in the lobby to weaken them. Most of the times they don't have heals so tey will rush with about 27 hp left making much easier. Also meph its not about numbers or skill. Its about whos got the most pbp, bars, and heals win. This is why a bar and pbp nerf need to be implied to era ASAP. Bases do not need a longer respawn time at all. |

People can turn the excess of numbers into their advantage. Many times has a teammate caused me to die simply because he was blocking my way when dodging bullets. The best part is to spread out and let the better skilled players have their room and have the not as advantaged players on standby in case they fall.

Plus, when people stop attacking your base, you don't get body parts at all. So that could help. It's not making people that much money right now anyway. |
