Get out of my section TomatoPanda. It's bad enough we have to share the same site with an Ol West subforum.

There is one solution: If they had servers around the globe, not just Dallas Texas. For an example: EU, NA etc the list goes on. But unixmad wouldn't even consider. Here are the reasons why: we don't have enough players, it would cost a lot of money, he would have to maintain multiple servers when he struggles maintaining Graal how it is now. And unixmad doesn't like to spend much money. And I hope you understand that even with a 1gbps wifi connection, you would still delay if outside of the US. It has nothing to do with the client, just the server.

The costs of opening up more servers globally would be more than covered by the gains made by just Classic.

Do some players have bad connections? Of course, but that doesn't and shouldn't be a reason to stop them from being competitive... from a money perspective it's illogical (why alienate 50%~ of your community?). Sadly Graal wasn't designed with lag and delay in mind, so it is an issue. But, once again, that's an issue with the game. Facing delayers isn't even a big deal... I don't know about the other Graal games, but on iclassic it isn't any more difficult than facing a good US player. It's a different style of gameplay, but not necessarily more difficult. |
