The surface pro 3 beats out the ipad any day of the week. Fantastic hardware. Its also really, really good for art. Works just like a Cintiq. I don't really like apple's stuff due to the "walled garden", overly minimalistic philosophy they have, and MAC's just aren't my thing.

I take chances and buy cheap generic off brand crap. Sometimes I get lucky and find a gem.

microsoft is better for gaming and office work. Apple is better at lab stuff (im going based of my moms office at Wash-U since all they use is macs) and artsy fartsy stuff since adobe was designed for macs.

If you are talking about phones, I recommend you Apple because they have a fast OS. If you are talking about PC, I recommend you Windows. I have Windows 7 on my Mac lol |

I have an iPhone, and I have had no problems with it whatsoever aside from the occasional Safari crash or two; at no point in my life had I thought, "I really wish I had an Android or Windows Phone for its ________ capability right now." Sure, the latter two may have more advanced hardware, but I find Apple has more than enough for what I'd typically want in a phone. All I use my phone for is calls, music, texting and Internet browsing. I don't even take too many pictures nor do I watch tons of videos, and as such, don't find much value in higher resolution screens or cameras. And I have the most experience with and find iOS to be my favorite, simple OS that I see no reason to change. This obviously varies by user, so it's fathomable for a lot picking Androids or WinPhones for things like high-res cameras, more RAM and the likes. As for tablets and computers, I see no compelling reason to pick Apple over Android and Windows. Even for simple users that only use computers for e-mails, document drafting, etc. there's still not much of a reason to pick a Mac over Windows or an iPad over a Note or Surface. Windows 7 offers so much more versatility and compatibility with so many more programs, and as much as I detest Windows 8, I find it much more appealing for casual use than Mac OS X. 2¢ |

The Samsung line of Galaxies are objectively superior to the iPhone, but as I said, I don't really need or want anything more that the iPhone doesn't have. Same deal goes for iOS Safari. |

I used to be pretty anti-Windows 8 but I can honestly say that after using it as my primary OS for over a year now I'm past all that. Granted, Windows 7 is superior when it comes down to the start button and not piling ugly mobile interfaces all over the place, but Windows 8 has always been faster and I prefer the way it looks.

I find Windows easier to use, however I prefer the professional design of Apple.

^this If you're an apple fan it's likely only because of the popular brand. Even for the 'professional graphics/video/stuff' applications excuse people throw around, there are alternatives that are just as good, if not better, for pc. Even Apples phones have been running behind competitors in terms of specs and innovation. |
