Maybe each gun and/or skin could have a different appearance. Like maybe some guns could glow, others shine/sparkle.  

As fun as that sounds. No. Cmon this isnt "my little pony" where everything (including weapons) sparkle.
Now i wouldnt mind weapons that have a "shine" effect

On second thoughts maybe this is a bad idea lol would make the game very kid- like and would look like everyones going round with toyguns, rather have it little bit more realistic, but then again gangsters pick flowers on era lol.

Water guns are stronger than handguns
Trash pops up without anyone dropping it
Pencils are more precious than diamonds and gold minerals
