To be fair, it is a map critique too. The effect done by whoever made it looks like it could come from a satellite image of a dust storm at the edges rather than a hand-drawn map.

You're right, it's way too noisy to fit in with the style of the map. It should've been stylised far better with hand-drawning but hey! Progress is progress!
