is an appstore update even necessary? the FB server tileset / the fb server being created in general didnt require app update. or did i just forget?

it don't needs a appstore update it would download the new tileset by relogin
about the facebook client it gets in the temp when you start the game

well when they would take the facebook tileset than they need to fix the whole map

Not really since most fails on FB have been created through NPC errors. Thats something you always can fix easy.
