1ks
Unreal not even close to a R3druM edit, everything was made without a template, different shape, different ears, different effect around the eyes, fades to grey, symbol on head, etc. Trollin was the hat I referenced to hat makers when I wanted to draw comparisons and Haze gave me permission to do that |

I agree though, it's a shame R3druM copied their hat idea from ie, thanks for pointing that out Lia

The blue one is smaller than the red one The red one's ears are squarer The blue one has gems (or whatever) on the forehead and the red one has..I dunno red scratch marks? The blue one is blue and the red one is red. it's when something looks WAY too alike that it's declined. For example, 3bad's hat submission. (which I found out about after I approved and uploaded it...but that happens sometimes. Can't memorize every hat that's ever existed ever.) ![]() Left is 3bad's submission, right is an old GST hat. Obviously edited and obviously way too similar. Some things are okay because, yes, there are a lot of anbu masks as well as a lot of other hats. The point is the guild needs to be somewhat creative and add a little bit of personal touch to it at least. Xzenix's hat was on the border but it got appected, and I can see why since it does look a little different. Same with the anbu masks. It's just when a guild puts no effort to add some creativity and practically asks for an already existing hat to be uploaded that it's a problem. |

When it comes to small edits, does resizing count?

99% sure the problem comes from the fact that popular 1k hat makers care more about the act of having any hat than actually valuing the hat If you guys didn't know about the MDR/ANl3U/Return thing, it basically went like:
That was definitely the most cancerous thing ever and what made me realize that most 1k hat makers are just going to slap together anything to get that +1 incremental hat count under their belt |

Never knew this and it surprised me. I used to see Vaazk as a great hat maker but that has changed. |

Resizing is fine if it literally only making a hat a pixel or two smaller or bigger. |

I think another thing with 1 guilds that needs to be mentioned that is pretty bs is when it comes to hat lists. Some guilds lists have a row or even more of people who never helped the guild, its just friends or noob accs of the leader and leads. Spent 350h over the last month and a half online helping a guild, didnt leave the tower more than 3 times, just to be kicked off the list "because its funny". I dont mind not getting the hat if 24 people deserve it more, but I dont like being told Im getting it to then be kicked. (P.s. I was online so much as Im about to start a new job but I need to wait for some paperwork) |

I honestly look at the quality/originality/effort put in by hat makers and it has gotten a lot lower. The issue doesn't often reside with the hat makers, it's that guilds will accept lower quality hats. The hats look so similar to regular hats that it's not even funny(think UN 1k and that one wing hat in swamp town). That's personally why I want to see the whole system changed, because right now I just feel like the quality of the hats are going down. Now, you could say something like "just because you don't like the hats doesn't mean the system should be done away with" and you're right, but that doesn't change the fact that these edits/knockoffs are getting more common. May or may not happen though, I don't care overly much anyway |
