How do people move in a single direction while facing another way? Like you walking west while facing north, and walking south while facing north. This could really help me in sparring and I wanna learn how.

It's called strafing and you can only do it on PC by pressing the left and right button togather while either pressing I to move up or K to move down.
NOTE:You can also strafe down using the DOWN key but can't strafe up with the UP key.Strafing up can only be done with the I key.

Depends on the keyboard actually. You can strafe up with the up arrow on some keyboards, as well as sideways with the left key while holding up and down simultaneously, but you turn right if you try the other direction.

Any tips for what to do when it's 0.5 v 0.5? My hands get really sweaty and they start shaking a bit and I start to move away from my playstyle.

nobody can teach someone to spar
You need to spar for yourself to learn.

Stay calm, play more defensive than usual.

Completely untrue.
Droid taught me how to spar and after about 2 months of him teaching me I was better than a lot of people in the battle arena (these people had been playing years).
Having someone teach you wont instantly make you better, but it will increase the speed of which you improve for sure.
So either I'm a very talented sparrer or teaching does work. I think it's the latter
