Hm, I actually see your point now. It'd actually be a terrible idea to take constructive criticism or suggestions from people who have proven consistency in winning the GST in the past. *Begins to drool while slamming face against desk until eyes begin to fall out of head* |

while we do agree to an extent the quality has diminished, there are reasons for it - New staff members come and go and one of the first jobs newer members normally do is the GST hats, so there's a conflict on styles, what a hat should be etc. - Difficult to please. While we get how nice the hats were in the past, most of them were from PC in a time where everyone was young in the game and almost naive. It's similar to how people complain about 2009 compared to now, though you might have enjoyed it back then technically it wasn't that much better. - We're not going back to old ideas. Sure everyone loves those wings hats but how many of those are in the game now? We would rather try and make something different (even though the response to that is negative) Personally, i'd rather just have 1 person in charge of making the hats (gl finding someone for that) or no hats at all. As great as user submitted content sounds it's hard going through all the submissions, end up having to change the hat to meet standards, inevitable conflict/arguments about why those were chosen or why they look different, that we'd rather just do it ourselves. By all means though, if you know someone who really wants to make the hats, tell them to apply. I don't see why people don't like the idea of working for the server, prob some pride issue, but if you really want your hats on there, you know where the app is lol |

stopped reading here. Clearly doesn't know that when you reach 1k hours towering you get to pick your very own hat. It's also important to mention that having a say in the hats being offered does not give you a competitive advantage over anyone else. Everyone still has "an equal chance of winning" even though they really don't. 0/10
I nominate Yami. |

This is like saying I have won the egg hunt twice, so I should get to decide how the trophy looks next year because I have a higher chance of winning than everyone else. |

There have been 17 Mixed GSTs that I know of (15 recorded in the MoD library, 2 unrecorded). Of those 17, these guilds have won:
6 guilds have won out of the 544 (that's 17 * 32, Craftz!) Mixed GST entrants. 3 of those guilds have won 14 of the the 17. 2 of those guilds have won 12 of the 17. Just 2 guilds have won 12 out of 17 Mixed GSTs. Even bolded the important parts for you, there you go! |

Then I find it odd why those odds never seem to work for those guilds but always turn in favor of a select few. Very coincidental.... You're trying to live in this land of "technically" where you bring in statistics and whatnot, which is all well and good if you're trying to jokingly correct someone for a quick laugh, but this simply doesn't work in the real world. Works the same for other games. In Smash Bros. for example, a tournament could have 700 entrants, all with an equal chance of winning. Yet the 5 Gods of Smash always seem to take the top spots, and the same people always win the tournaments. If time is an issue to qualify your statistic, Melee has been around for more than a decade, and this has always been the case. You don't look past the numbers, which is a big problem when you're trying to assess this in practical terms. Yes, technically everyone has an even chance, but in reality, there are very few guilds who are going to be considered to win it. Welcome to the real world. |

They are given an equal opportunity to win, but that does not mean the all have equal odds. A guild that is much more skilled than the other guilds means they will have better odds of winning. These are why if you go to bet on say... horse racing, betting on the horse that has a much higher record of winning will give very little returns. |
