I wouldn't call the Wii a failure, nor the DS/3DS, and I've heard really good things about the WiiU. I agree they're relying too much on gimmick's, but last time they relied purely on beating the competition with better hardware they struggled(Gamecube). Nintendo decided to not go down that route anymore and set themselves apart from the competition--and it worked.

Do I agree with the gimmicky stuff? Nah, not really, but I can understand why they went with the direction they did.

Yeah, even the WiiU isn't doing that poorly. It's not a real flop like the poor Vita .  

As a master race PC gamer I couldn't care less about gimmicky **** motion controls. There's no reason to buy a Nintendo console other than their IP's, which is kind of what I'm trying to get at.

Well it's not really fair to compare with Wii Sports, considering it was bundled with the Wii.

Where do you think consoles will go from here? Isn't there an ultimate ceiling where graphics and hardware cannot get better in any substantial way and that the only way forward is with gimmicks?

Idk,i took it from wiki.If it comes with Wii then i think it shouldn't be in the list.

We're not even close to being there yet, don't worry. VR seems promising but who knows where gaming will go in 10 years.  

i guarentee you gaming will not go very far on consoles because of hardware restrictions and consoles only come out something like once every 6 years. PC on the other hand is where everything will develop since there are always a better option plus you can upgrade those parts unlike consoles where you're stuck with what you have.

Technologically we're far from that I think. The issue comes from the amount of money it costs to develop games that actually reach that potential.  

They could've just ported their games to PC and make a killing off it.
