Sentenial park (may have spelled wrong) is a cool place where a lot of events go down. We have world of coca cola, it attracts many people. A popular resturant down there is known as "The Varsity", since you came from cali I can pretty much break it down easily. It is the In-and-out Burger of Atlanta. Atlanta has music festivals a lot, they are pretty damn good too. Shaky Knees music festivals was just 2 weekends ago, and music midtown happens every year. If you are into EDM and dubstep rave style events, counterpoint is awesome. Also speaking of music festivals there is Bonnaroo 4-day music festival up in Machester, Tennessee, which is not too far from Atlanta. It is damn expensive but also the best experience i've ever had. Its the closest thing to woodstock, imo. Atlanta has my favorite shopping center, called "little five points" check it out. Lots of reggae styled things, fun restaurants, local coffee shops, smoke shops, fancy wear shops.. you name it! Cool people go there. Atlanta traffic is heavy, i am sure you have probably noticed that. Be careful on those highways, please. #1 Airport in the US. Since you are a wakeboarder, its good to note georgia has zero state named natural lakes. However, wake boarders are somewhat common. I live an hour north in woodstock, Ga. We have lake Alatoona. I see wakeboarders there all the time. I believe there is a KKK peace walk (yes, thats what i meant to type) held every year in Atlanta. I hear about it a lot when it happends. A popular club is called IRIS, going back into the EDM community. There is also Kingdom Rave held every 2 months, that is fun. Georgia has fun paintball. You should try playing some time! Also falcons games and braves games slow down the entire city. Either partake in the fun or GTFO and fast. I can't really help you on the male:girl ratio. It just depends what specific area you are in. I go to highschool still, id say more girls in my school by far. It's not like that everywhere though. There are ALOT of blacks in ATL though haha
Longboarding is progressively entering popularity however is farther behind those of northern and western states.
Nah jk lol Georgia is beautiful. Be sure to visit state parks!!!! The city itself kinda grosses me out after awhile, but so do all other cities. I know i'm not the only one. Humidity can be a bitch. Since you are from Cali, expect beaming rays of sun with little wind. Cali is usually kept cooler from its coastal breeze but in core georgia the heat can just sit there and burn you to a crisp. Try to build up an immunity (aka a tan) Disneyworld is down south in florida. I recommend Universal Studios more though, it's more adult friendly. OH YEAH I ALMOST FORGOT: The state police department (or whatever) is on a 2 week campaign against not wearing your seatbelt. They literally are implementing all sorts of things in order to catch as many people as they can. Wear your seatbelt, but if you aren't going to, just pretend like you are very good for the next too weeks. |

Yeah I've flown into that airport a couple times now, it's chaotic. Even more-so then LAX... Anyways I've had some time off and got to check out Savannah, GA. I'm now off to Lake Laneir today for a couple days with some co-workers. Here's a picture of me on top of the Capital Building, we were shooting a couple scenes up there for Ride Along 2. With Ice Cube and Kevin Hart. http://i59.tinypic.com/2wdzvb9.jpg (Unsupported image host) And another picture of me when I successfully joined Local 600 Cinematography Guild about a year ago. (I don't know why the **** I have duck lips) http://i62.tinypic.com/ejy077.jpg (Unsupported image host) |
