Search Popcap games in the App Store.
Anything by them is guaranteed quality. Bejeweled, Peggle, and Chuzzle are their popular puzzle games. I like Zuma's Revenge as well but I don't think that is considered a puzzle game.

Meganey, if you are 16 or older, try Second Life. It's not a game and I'm not even old enough to register but it seems really fun and lucky for you most macs are less stubborn then PCs when it comes to meeting the system requirements as-is.

Edit: actually, you can make it a game if you want to ;)

You could play IMVU, which is 13 years old and older. Played on most desktop/laptop computers. Has an apple store app too, but not where you should start playing if you're new xD It's just a regular 3d chat room game. You meet people in chat rooms, chat, make friends. You have an avatar you can fully customize-- head shape, eyes, eyebrows, skin, clothes, shoes, etc.

Cons: it can get expensive. Also, you can't really make any friends while you look like a noob, people kick you out of the chatroom before you can type.

I though it was PC and Mac.

I play it on Mac, there is a wrapper and you can get Terraria free that way without torrents.

Anyways try realm of the mad god  

I think the Kairosoft Games (iOS/Android) will suit you.

16 and older bla bla.. i was like 9 when i started halo. by the way, i can vouch for tha. second life i pretty awesome. it's more script oriented, but the player base is made up of mainly furries

The age restriction is really only for people who play on the teen server or adult server, but even that, the teen server is, like i said, more script oriented.. it's an open source game that devs like to mess around with  

portal? that's a puzzle game and doesn't have violence from what I've heard.

also, in minecraft you build stuff and survive and all that. You can play creative and just build stuff or play survival to find materials and build with that. You can even play online with friends on a server and build together in the same world.
