I agree with this post for several reasons. Firstly, overpopulation IS a serious issue, whether you all like it or not. Secondly, developing nations are excepted to be the cause of it, with most of those being in Africa. These developing countries have poor economies, and by that I don't just mean money. They have poor hygiene, housing, job pay, job openings, education, crops, live stock, governments, constitutions and laws, law enforcement - the list could go on. Money is essential to decent living conditions, however if there is nowhere to buy it from, how are you supposed to receive it? Most families consist of anywhere from 4-15 sons/daughters, which only contributes to the problem. If they only had 1 or 2 children, a family would have much more comfort in life.

Thirdly, these people are attempting to migrate to wealthier, developed nations in order to increase their living standards. This may be easy for them, but it takes its toll on the population already on this nation. For example, Asylum Seekers are continuously travelling illegally and/or legally into Australia. I don't have a problem with this except for the fact that most of them don't have a single cent with them. Every immigrant of this sort needs housing (with plumbing and electricity), food, education, and more; but how are they supposed to receive this with no money? They effectively use our tax money, which could be used on state schools or roads or charities for the benefit of our society, to pay. Realistically, I doubt they would be able to give back the money we've spent on them, so therefore they're detrimental to our society's economy.
Heck, we're even donating to these countries 'for good', when the best action we can take is to let those nations collapse and start anew.

This might seem harsh, but it's my view on Ebola & overpopulation. Don't get me started on slums in major cities.

To the people who are saying that "ebola will help with population control," your reasoning is completely horrible. What if you were one of the people who got ebola? I'm pretty sure you would be begging that ebola would go away while you would be sitting in the quarantine room. Many children have died and it makes me sad that you think it's good for this disease to kill so many people because it "lowers the chance of overpopulation." Imagine how the people who have ebola feel? I'm pretty sure the only reason you say this is because you've never had ebola. But I'm 100% sure that your reasoning would change if you did get ebola.

When it happens, you're going to wish you were back home safe at your computer where the biggest worries of the world are your grades.

I understand, but Ebola is much different than ISIS. I'd rather live in a world with the zombie apocalypse than in a battle field of gun shots, explosives, and bombs.

It sickens me that you would find a "thrill" in trying to survive. You wouldn't be the only one affected by this - do you think the people in Africa are finding a "thrill" in surviving? Do you think that everyone else in the world would find a "thrill" in surviving? That is an extremely selfish way of thinking. So many mothers have lost their children, so many people have lost family members. You're not afraid of death, but imagine how your family members would feel? You're only thinking of yourself and you're not thinking about how other people would be affected by this. Not everyone wants to die. Not everyone isn't afraid of dying.

I'm going to be totally honest and say my friends and I spread this Ebola "drama" for the thrill of it.
I laugh every time my parents buy canned goods, and my grandparents as well.
Sometimes I like to say "Oop, another person died of Ebola" so it freaks people out. It's completely hilarious and adds some character to my day.

I relate this to storms, I really really love storms (including tornadoes) and make a huge deal of it for fun because it is exciting.

Like someone mentioned earlier, I would actually LIKE Ebola to mutate and go airborn just for the thrill of striving for survival -- even if that means not surviving.

It's just gonna infect you and then you'll have to know what the victims all went through and we'll just be sitting here watching you on the news laughing gleefully whilst continuing on with our normal lives.

Not only did I not once say everyone isn't afraid of dying, It's a personal opinion of mine.
It's human nature to have a little bit of animal in us, and that does mean survival.
Obviously Ebola probably won't mutate, and reality is much bigger than mind set. It's not like my statement was "I hope we all get Ebola and try to survive from it but we all die" I'm saying the thought of it in an outbreak would be thrilling to the mind, like a jolt of "this is fun!"
Which is a good idea for a game, like laser tag, people could play in the woods (not real Ebola of course).

Again, reality is bigger than the mind.

The reason they have many children is too Survive. With more children you are able to have a bigger workforce for your whole family.

Overpopulation in Australia is the least of your worries. Especially with immigration. These are people too. You kinda just label them as parasitic even though most of them go on to become contributing members of society.

You're all really making the situation sound way worst wt this point, and those of you getting a "thrill" out of ebola, it'd be a shame if your loved ones including you got caught up with it. Rather keep it to yourselves then tell us how much of a **** you are.  

Platinum, I see where you are coming from a tad, but that is pretty ****ed up man. I don't think population control should be in the means of a horrible disease killing thousands of people in a horrific way.

Overpopulation is and will become a bigger problem, but it can be targeted by people in a way that makes sense. Such as chinas tax laws against 2 or more children. That seriously helped them out a lot.

Back on topic, I love the conversations in school we have been having. Whether it is in a class, and teacher initiated, or if its just with friends. We all seem to have something productive to bring to the table and we can run through the different scenarios of what could happen without insulting each other. Seriously. My teachers are concerned, my friends are concerned, my parents are concerned, my other family members are concerned, obama is concerned, the government is concerned, wolf blitzer is concerned, the FDA is concerned... and yet I have a couple kids on an internet forum based off of a ripoff zelda game telling me that I am paranoid and an idiot for considering the possibilities of what this disease could turn out to be.
