Ebola is quite the same, none of this hysteria is based on medical or scientific understanding, a good portion of the people all hyped up about it have little to no medical or scientific knowledge, outside of "it is possible for a virus to mutate", when half the time none of those people have any idea what the **** they just said. I've seriously heard people who outright deny evolution and anything like it say that Ebola is going to mutate and go airborne. If you really think it will, here is an interesting article I found.

Next thing you know we have 20 new cases of Ebola. Seriously, the hygeine in some places is so much **** that nearly everyone manages to catch the same sicknesses when it comes around. Today in my anthropology I looked down at my desk and I saw bloody mucus rubbed all down the corner of my desk. I also was partnered with some kid who seemed like he had the flu. He was insanely pale and red eyed. He was having deep productive coughs into his hands and then started to type on the computer and use the mouse. People can get sick easily from pretty much anything in these environments. Then- these kids go home and take the virus to their family. This means once ALL the kids are quarantined at school after some time, the whole families will have to be quarantined and anyone working in these households would not be able to. That is ALOT of people for CDC to deal with, and I don't trust they could do it effectively as they have already failed to monitoring possible victims. |

People believed the world was going to end because of a calendar written by an ancient civilization even though NASA could clearly prove there was nothing that could happen, that is completely religious lmao Only time will tell and seeing as no one here has a degree in biology no one should be saying anything about Ebola mutating or not. |

2012 was people assuming that since the Mayans ended their calendar in the year 2012 that the Mayans were assuming that the world would be ending then. If you can explain to me how religion is in anyway affiliated with that then that'd be great. |

Ancient civilizations didn't assume anything, they heavily believed in religion and thus a majority of their decisions were influenced by it, or more specific, the gods. When the calendar was miss interpreted it was mainly religious people who believed it due to the point I stated above. Anyway this is an Ebola thread not a religious one so I am no longer going to reply. |

I'm going to be totally honest and say my friends and I spread this Ebola "drama" for the thrill of it. I laugh every time my parents buy canned goods, and my grandparents as well. Sometimes I like to say "Oop, another person died of Ebola" so it freaks people out. It's completely hilarious and adds some character to my day. I relate this to storms, I really really love storms (including tornadoes) and make a huge deal of it for fun because it is exciting. Like someone mentioned earlier, I would actually LIKE Ebola to mutate and go airborn just for the thrill of striving for survival -- even if that means not surviving. |

We kinda needed something like this to lower the population. I'll be realistic, all of that bullsh*t they're putting on the news about "new ways to efficiently and effectively mass grow crops" and "new water filter can save millions" etc. is not going to cut it. It's like a balloon. You can only put so much air into it until BAM! It pops. You can fill it up a little, but it won't float. You can fill it up too much and it pops. You need it just right.
