Can you provide us with a reputable source, like a medical website that tells us that it's going to mutate and kill us all, or at least show us your degree in medicine because you're obviously way more knowledgeable about the Ebola virus than anyone in the world.

The article states it COULD happen. It only takes basic knowledge to know a virus could mutate.

A police deputy has been rushed to hospital with Ebola symptoms after coming in contact with "patient zero" Thomas Duncan. He was one of the officers who searched his apartment

Duncan, the Liberian man who became the first person confirmed to have Ebola in the United States, died yesterday at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital.

The man being transported to hospital has been widely reported as being a deputy with the Dallas County Sheriff's Office.

Yes, but the article you linked is not a medical article, theres no reason to believe a word it says. Now while it may be "basic knowledge" that it "could" mutate. If you can't produce a single medical article that says that there is any reason to think it will, I don't see why anyone should bother stressing over it. Doesn't need to be by CDC or WHO, since you guys are so insistent their goal is to hide the truth and let us all turn into ebola zombies.

I'm just saying, if you give a source for something, it better not be some stupid celebrity news site, or some other news site that has some big political agenda.

You give these organizations too much credit. They are amazing, but nature can easily overpower man in mysterious ways. We cannot predict and control everything- that is just something society has implanted in some of your heads.

Oh I am not trying to convince everyone to worry. It just seems everybody here is treating the CDC and the government like they are some sort of god. If things got to the point of no return the government wouldn't be focused on saving you, but saving their own asses.

I am not saying the gov or the CDC are bad guys, I am saying that putting all your trust into one group of people to contain something that could have so many different outcomes is not that great.

The point isn't to worry- it is just to be aware. Where I live, my family owns a rural house in a a subdivision where I go to school and work, and then we have a farmhouse up in the country about an hour away. We have many firearms that we all have practice shooting, and we have a good amount of seeds and farming equipment. Also a couple months worth of packaged food. It feels like a really safe place in the middle of nowhere.

If an outbreak spread and started killing people and hit my state, at least I know that we have a plan. That keeps me from being worried. Because if I didn't know what I was going to do if the gov't made mistakes, I would probably be more worried. It situations like ebola outbreaks, the outcome is more dependent on how prepared and conscious the people are about it- rather than how confident the government is about it.

Ebola may be in Canada, two people who recently returned from West Africa both went to the hospital around the same time showing symptoms of the disease.

One is in Ottawa and the other is in Belleville (I actually live 10 minutes away from Belleville so I hope he doesn't have it)

The bolded area was what I was referring to. It's completely irrelevant and doesn't make sense to what I even said. Here's a suggestion: take your own advice into consideration and stop being hypocritical. It may come in handy in the future.

Why should people spend so much time preparing on a test when they have no idea what their score will be? Because they feel like being prepared for anything. Same goes for an outbreak; we have no idea what will happen, but we prepare anyway because it makes us feel safe and secure. You don't need proof that a worldwide outbreak will happen to prepare for one, you only need a good enough reason. Plus, the preparation may come in handy for future possible outbreaks. Consider this a wake up call.
