It's humorous how even the games acknowledge Magikarp's worthlessness. http://img.gawkerassets.com/img/193hupfcfko7sjpg/original.jpg (Unsupported image host) http://img.gawkerassets.com/img/193hj93v2vqt1jpg/original.jpg (Unsupported image host) http://img.gawkerassets.com/img/193hjaf7p3qvpjpg/original.jpg (Unsupported image host) |

I'm still not sure why his Bisharp didn't Sucker Punch me when my Gyara was at 10%, but o well. sux4him Oh and if you want good practice, you can head over to Showdown. There's a Competitive Tutoring chat and as long as it isn't too busy people would be glad to teach you about competitive battling and such. You can also import and test teams to see where they're weak and patch them up. |

So many cheaters on the trading forums though. Using Pokegen and cloning for Pokemon. They should earn their stuff legitly.

I honestly wish I had a 3DS again just for the experience of playing online with the actual cartridge and the feel of earning Pokemon through trades and training, but X/Y is the only game that interests me, so I can't really justify buying another one after I sold mine. I also really want to play with you guys D:

How's the competitive look for gen 6, now that it's been a while?

Good. The meta's settled in, and there are a lot of viable strategies as opposed to "Politoed undisputed king of OU go rain" in Gen 5. The OP MegaEvos were banned, and a lot of the new Pokemon are getting some playtime, especially Smogonbird and Smogonsword. Entry hazards are finally less prevalent. A lot of playstyles are viable. Hyper-offense was greatly aided by Sticky Web and stronger priority (Smogonbird/Bisharp/M.Mawile), stall was aided greatly by strong new clerics and reliable hazard setters like Sylveon and Deo-D respectively, weather is still viable if played correctly due to the unbanning of Swift Swim and Sand Force/Rush, balance is... well, still balanced. There's a lot more counterplay to each of these playstyles too. M.Charizard(s), M.Gyara, Smogonbird and M.Mawile pick apart hyper-offensive teams, Clefable utterly destroys stall, and weather is no longer infinite. Lots of items are viable now instead of just Life Orb/Scarf/Leftovers. Type-specific plates like Dread Plate, Assault Vest, Red Card, Rocky Helmet, Weakness Policy are just a few that are coming to light. I was pretty bitter towards Gen 6 when it first came out due to things like M.Evos, Sticky Web and new annoying as **** Pokemon like Klefki, but now that everything's settled down it's a really nice environment. |
