Sparrers you can just boost of an account in PC Room which rarely has people in it (I've seen it been done) and just camp in spar rooms.

You are comparing an illegal and uncommon activity of sparring to the legal and common activity of tower taking.  

Another point being towering is mainly for hats whereas people who are serious about spar could care less about a 10k hat and would never boost to obtain it as they want to have good reputation, the hat is just a nice bonus to represent achieving something not many people do.

The same few people are always at the top. Besides the fact that the unchosen hat is probably trash, this is a completely different concept from the rest of the thread. Moving from "give everyone with 'x' wins a hat" to "give only #1 at hat every 3mo" is not going to bring more people to the spar community.  

we're on page 12, there's nothing left to say that can express why the spar/PK hats is a good idea that hasn't already been said - I just didn't want to bump the new leaderboard thread because it isn't active

we already know that in every thread regarding incentivization of sparring, PKing, or towering that you or that other guy is going to post "NO DON'T DO THAT" so I don't even understand why you guys come back to the thread to repeat it over and over

no. after reading the end of OP, my last comment is unnecessary. You say, "Incentivize it so more people do it." Why is it important for people to make these milestones? It wouldnt promote higher participation rates for these activities; the only people who dont spar pk bk are the role players, who wouldnt bother even with the motivation.

I disagree. I feel like add milestones like this encourages people to go out and participate in something in graal rather than just sit around graal city trying to rp

Just going to say I'm not a fan of waiting so long to spar (usually in main spar room) because the queues get packed up later on int he day, and when I go to Quick Spar room I wait like 5minutes just to spar a negative rate sparrer who probably afk's alot. I'm sorry I am not prepared to wait x2 the time for the exact same thing just for a Hat. However if we implemented a spar queue which has been asked for many times maybe I won't have to wait 5mins just to spar someone with like 20 wins and 300 losses (just an example not accurate)  

If they add this I will play again.
Especially if they add Dave Mercy's giant crown I will do whatever it takes!

I respectfully disagree. I'm not in favor of allowing the prizes of past winners to become prizes for other teams as well. I speak for my team's accomplishments, but I would like to assume that many other GST winners would also feel like they'd be stripped of their medals, or so to speak. The novelty of a hat that only you and your friends sport around Graal is rather priceless, as experienced by many via the 1000 hour tower hats. Its a one-of-a-kind deal upfront, and from my perspective, I think it should stay that way.

I didn't mean old GST hats that were used and given to other teams when I said that, I apologize if it sounded that way. What I meant to say by "old hats" was hats on UN or hats from other servers that havn't been placed in classic yet. I can think of a few from UN that would be nice hats. As far as UN players getting mad, I'm sure many of these hats could be obtained fairly easily (although I'm not sure as I don't play UN or ever really have).

Youre original argument was for more to just participate, not make it to the top of the boards. Or were you expecting graal city's role players to be able to take your spot?

Most noob guilds dont join GSTs for the winners hats, they join for item in the prize room that everyone gets (pays for..) (besides the fact its a fun event that only happens 4x /year).

Conclusion being: the original idea of giving a standard hat to every one that gets 'x' spar/pk/bk is a much better idea than only rewarding #1 for the season; even though i dont agree with either.

Just for reference, can someone please post these older hats onto this thread so we can see the kind of hats you guys like? I'm not sure if they can be added as they are, but it would certainly benefit in terms of seeing the kind of hats people like.

are ones I found when looking through some hats in graal folders. As for a new hat, I think an animated gif rainbow(or any rotation of colors) nose (like the clown noses) would make for a GST hat that would be chosen. Just a thought I had.  

I could literally talk to people like Vaazk, Ashur, Ezio, Kodak, etc. and get 20 hats put together for spar/PK milestones if that's what is preventing this from happening
I'm sure they'd want the hats or some sort of other compensation for their work, but yeah

if I had my way though, it'd be done like this: there is some place that you go to on the map where you can see the spar/PK hats on display, and you can also redeem them by clicking on them when you have the required PKs or wins
each hat comes in 3 different colors that the player can select 1 of, so that it gives players a little bit of customization and variety instead of, "yeah, I got that 20k spar wins hat that everyone else has"

that's me being insanely optimistic though
at this point though, I'd be happy with the bare minimum of getting this done because all I really care about is that more people will participate in sparring/PKing and it'll make the game a bit more fun for a while  

I think you should be able to buy pks and spar wins so you can be pro without being skillful like Thallen and FreakyTree and Colin  

I have no idea what other issue they're working on that could possibly be more productive than this.
