nah all psychotic "pLeAsE dOn'T iNsUlT tHe GaMe WhEn I'm FiNaLlY wInNiNg In 2017" rants aside i'm primarily referring to how GST (the central event of all of sparring) became dominated by teams that abuse their delay and the fact that there was a rule implemented solely to assist them. i'm gonna properly capitaize the following to make it easier on the eyes so you guys can actually read it.

The rule where the team/player with the most health at the end of a guildspar/spar wins is helpful in some areas but has ultimately reduced the competitive aspect of a fighting game (sparring). At least during GST, I'd strongly prefer an unlimited timer to let both teams fight it to the death and really show who the better guild is. With the rule in place as is, we see teams get a lead in a 3v1 situation and someone types "tie", "D", etc. and all members of that team start running away until the match ends. This does not prove who the better guild is at all, and actually shows a lack of confidence in the team's ability to finish off their opponent, yet we still reward them a win for it.

Let's flash back to one GST moment from the past that I keep bragging about to use as an example. Don't post "LoL tHiS wAsHeD uP kId StIlL lIvInG iN tHe GlOrY dAyS" but actually focus on the point I'm making because this is one of the only serious posts I'll make in 2017:

(Nessa) vs. (Alumni)
Fact: 1v2 situation where it was me (0.5) vs. Jack Sparrow (0.5) and Sarah (1). Post-gst I recall the excuse "they should have tied it" being used but they didn't, and I won, and I don't see why one would take pride in people running away to get their win.

With tie rule being used (current state of the game): Sarah and Jack Sparrow run away until the timer runs out, match ends, (Alumni) probably goes on to win that entire tournament.

Without the tie rule being used (a fight to the death, infinite timer effect): I pull off the clutch and (Nessa) goes on to win the entire tournament.

Which of these is more competitive, seriously? If you can make an argument for the tie rule being a more accurate representation of who the better guild is than fighting to the death, you deserve an award because I'm failing to see any reasoning at all.

I been off classic for too long, but damn I didn't know that rules. So like the tie spars are counted as wins towards those with a lead on numbers (members).

Have you ever considered that the only way a match can last that long with the current system is if both teams continue to have the same total health when the timer ends? Thanks for helping prove my point: remove the timer and we can have a spar to the end and save a whole lot of time, rather than continuously tie and start over while hesitating to fight because "WE CAN USE THE TIE RULE AND WIN!!! YES!!!" For the incoming "what if we have a tie during the endless timer" yeah because in a 30 health vs. 30 health that'll definitely occur all the time.

Regardless, I strongly believe that an endless timer would actually SAVE time over the current state of "Let's wait until the timer because we have no confidence in our finishing abilities and we can milk this thing". Also why are we bringing up "the games only seasonal tournament" and trying to save time anyways? Three months is 2190 hours worth of waiting, but if the GST takes over TWO? Call the police! For the incoming "Players have work" please save it, you guys literally call in sick just to play Graal on this day. Even with that point being made, I still believe an endless timer would save time as the spar would be less "run away!!!" and more "finish him."

All these remarks... You lost to Jimbo's team during gst. You can't say any insults to other teams. You lost to jimbo's team, I would quit if I were you. Stand down mate,it's like losing to kaios. You need to have a good comeback, so people would forget you lost to jimbo's team during gst.

If James makes the video public, you can see the timer is irrelevant in this example. If memory recalls those teams all had close to full health after 5 minutes anyways, the timer is necessary

I'm pretty sure Penguin had another forums account? Ahhh that other account was used by Dark. Changing your IP using VPN doesn't change the way you talk.  

Update: Done posting for the night before this psychopath completely derails the topic with multiple delusional posts. Please read my three posts with proper grammar and capitalization as they are the only serious posts I'm making this year, probably. Show support or try to refute it, Dark failed but if anyone has an argument go ahead and try me and I'll probably read this late tomorrow. Serious responses only please.

To my knowledge, Comet’s last 3 GST entries he’s lost to VIS, a guild comprised of DoT members and Jimbo’s team. Instead of gracefully accepting defeat, he attempts to maintain his ego by blaming the guild spar system. That’s one weird way to justify losing.

In HS the exchange students from Asia honestly made more sense than you do at times. Illiteracy? Genuine incompetency? one, both? idk

I think my team tied one spar this season, wasn't even a pivotal spar. I can win with American's (only delayers go for tie's according to you) or with international players. I'm sure I'd win regardless of the tie rule existing lol

I'm going to assume your first paragraph is aimed towards 7ives? This recent gst we never used the tie system or abused it in any way as too what your saying, all our spars were finished and we still went undefeated, (you can watch all our spars on Sarah's YouTube channel she would be more than happy to give you the link too them if you want proof), yes we played smart and didn't rush in to clean up the last kill. But we aren't going to risk a gst that is on once every 3 months to rush the final kill and possibly lose is the round, this isn't lack of confidence in our abilities, this is playing smart and not wanting to take a risk. even if an unlimited time system was added we would still spar the exact same and we would either pressure someone into a corner (which we have been doing) or just play defensive until the enemy makes a move! Anyways onto abusing delay, we don't abuse our delay we just know how to spar with it. Yeah we play defensive but any American can play defensive and our delay would then be used against us. Not sure if this is referring to jimbo's team or ours but that's my opinion on the matter!
