Im disgusted by some of you. Most of you have probally not even left the United States or wherever your from, and highly doubt you have been anywhere where Kony has left death and devastation. You think your little school shootings or suicide teen that makes it on the news is bad? Thousands of children have been forced to butcher their family, their little baby brothers or sisters, their parents, their friends. Also they have had to see things no child should ever see. Not to mention Kony is responsible for so many deaths. This is a modern day genocide and so many people are ignorant to do anything. I advise if you do jot support KONY 2012, then get off your ass and try to help. You think that what you do won't affect anyone, but your wrong. Also to the guy who said "nothing is sometimes better than something", that can be true for certain things, but honestly you think its better to let this kind of crap continue? I was convicted of the same mentality before I went and saw the destruction Kony had left. I just hope that you guys try to help and not only this, there is alot of other major problems across the world that you could help. Last thing try to imagine some of the decisions the young boys have to make, lose your life or kill your little brother? Take some time to think about the reality of all this, it isn't a movie or fairytale, its just a continent away.

We didn't say Kony isn't evil, we just said Invisible Children isn't worth supporting.

You guys may be blind and or deaf. The whole point is to raise awareness, to take a stand and say we won't let this kind of inhumane actions continue in our world. Who said donate? No one! Be informed.

What are we paying for? Theres so many things of equal value to donate to. Cancer... healthcare... Natural disaster victims. I think your money would be more effectively used in somthing of that value. Donating bothers me in itself... I've always loved how things like the boyscouts/girlscouts of america make their donation money. Overcharged boxes of cookies... that makes more realistic sence to me. I really wonder where all your donation money is. If you guys are going to call people who may be less fourtunate than you selfish, grow up. What will happen if billions of people donate infinite money to this cause.... Will they buy robots to rescue the children? no... if you are going to call people selfish why dont you go join the military. On the other hand this video has a very positive use. If you all use your little socail networking websites, Goverment ellectives will want you to vote for them, and if 10,000's of people support this cause, the electives will add this cause the their "campaigning strategy". Guys this video is in all means good to post. Just dont get selfish and say, "Hah i donated and u dident suckerz haha U are selfish lozers". because this is what im seeing. |

Alright, listen up. Crono has a point about the whole social stigma thing, and I get the feeling chaotic is borderline-trolling at this point. I'm not saying this is bad and we should let this happen, but what do we really do after seeing this? Even the people who are getting angry at chaotic etc? We say "God, that's terrible"... Then we go back to our regular lives, and eat dinner, and forget about it. Now, if you're a real activist, congratulations, but I doubt that anyone here actually has done anything besides possibly donate a couple bucks out of, as crono put it, "social stigma"

That is the entire point of this video. To change the social stigma. To make this movement last long enough so that something can be done over there. To do this, people need to start thinking outside of the box. Get the word out, even more than just posting something on facebook. The more donations, and the more this is known, the better. Ive already donated and have bought a T-Shirt for it and am going to wear that T-Shirt every day and everywhere I go untill April 20th. (Yes I will wash it.) Things like this are a great way to get the word out even faster. Anyone can make a difference. If everyone has that same mindset that they wont actually do anything besides talk about it, nothing will get done.

I'm not trolling, I don't want to support invisible children. They don't have reliable creditentials, theres also been many scandals around their organization. The donations you send them go towards more propeganda, like flyers and movies, and very little is spent on helping the captured children directly. Most of the donations go straight into the founders pockets. They are listed as a non-profit organization, and yet they still make a profit. Plus, they fund the Ugandan Army with donations, and the Army of Uganda has had many scandals about their troops raping women and slaughtering innocent people as well. Also, Invisible Children believes in military intervention, which is completely contradictory to their cause. If the military goes in guns blazing agains the Lord's Army to capture Kony, there would be heavy casualties. Now the problem with that is the LRA is made up of children. So for the military to capture Kony, they'd have to fight through his army to get to him, killing the children they are trying to free. Kony hasn't even been in Uganda since 2006, so they are funding the Ugandan Army without it actually aoding their cause. If you want to make a change, don't fund them, call your congressman/congresswoman. Also, I didn't say i support Kony. I do believe he is evil, but I don't support Invisible Children. This kony 2012 spam is out of proportion and useless. Lots of horrible dictators have done stuff like this, especially in Africa. Your Facebook posts don't do much, and incase you haven't noticed the "invisible children" havent done much other than make these films, and arent really helping considering they suggest all out military attack, which would be just another war US is involved in, and would result in more deaths of children even if your raising awareness your doing it the wrong way, dont use the invisible children videos and sites, they arent really supporting this in the right way, they waste their money on movies and crap, and on themselves, they support direct military action that will result in more deaths, and sadly, this kind of stuff happens lots of places, i wouldnt compare him to hitler, because child abduction and child warfare and child labor and child rape are things that happen in these places under these small dictators and warlords, its not as easy as spreading the word to kill him, and who knows, if you kill him someone else can pop up. |
