Stella Glow
If you enjoy games like Fire Emblem, then you will enjoy Stella Glow. I just recently got it, and I'm enjoying it a lot. I won't go to deep into the story, but it's about witches, and your goal is to stop the witch of destruction from distributing chaos and destruction throughout the Kingdom of Elma. I personally love the character designs, the world, and the graphics of this game. The game is a tactical strategy game where your characters have limited moving blocks per turn, similar, but simpler than Fire Emblem, at least as far as I've gotten. (Prologue ending) This game seems promising, considering it cost 50 bucks. |

Made by Atlus so there's a 50% chance that it's an awful anime rip-off of an existing game. I'll give it a chance, I guess.

Well, I mean, the battle system is EXTREMELY similar to Fire Emblem Fire Emblem: Spoiler
Stella Glow Spoiler
It has a few differences though like turns. In FE, whenever it's your side's turn, you can move anyone in a certain order. In this however, you have to look at the palettes on the top screen to see who goes next. You can also choose to either use a normal attack, or use a skill attack, which, of course, does more damage than normal attacks. From what I've played through, that's pretty much the differences. Everything else seems pretty much the same as FE. What I like about this game though, is it's colorful graphics, and the somewhat intriguing story line of trying to preventing a witch of destruction and her crew from destroying the world. People who've played through the game and beat it told me it took them more than a week to beat it, so there has to be something more to it. |

I see. You've never played any tactical RPGs other than Fire Emblem, eh? I watched someone play the demo of Stella Glow. It's closer to Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced than to Fire Emblem. It kinda reminds me of another game by Atlus called Luminous Arc. If it doesn't have some new gimmick I doubt I'd enjoy playing it. The story looks like the typical weeb-bait Atlus and NIS have been cranking out lately. -edit I looked up some things. I can usually tell that a game is going to be **** if it shows sexy women on the back of the case instead of gameplay. http://img.gamefaqs.net/box/3/6/7/570367_back.jpg (Unsupported image host) Yup. weeb-bait Looked up some reviews. Pretty decent. 7/10 is the average. Had to scroll past all the "As a fan of everything Japanese" reviews until I got to the ones that actually talked about the game. A couple of the reviews mentioned recycled mechanics from the Luminous Arc series and too much fan-service. God I hate Luminous Arc. The first Luminous Arc was stupidly unbalanced. Most of the characters you got were overpowered, and to compensate for that they made it super difficult to level up. Story was about witches. Sexy witches being sexy and tropey. Gameplay was Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced without class selection and customizable character builds. You know, the thing that's fun about tactical RPGs? No strategy required. Just overwhelm enemies with OP witches. Anyways... Grinding was obnoxious because of how difficult it was to get EXP in battles. But the game was kinda funny after I hacked the game and changed the EXP values, so that's something. Luminous Arc 2 was the first time that I actually felt cheated and tricked by anime themes in a game. I honestly felt like my money was ****ing stolen from me by a smooth talking salesman. Was promised a great game by reviews made from 30-year-old otakus, instead I got a battle system worse than the first Luminous Arc and a story entirely based around fan-service. The goal of the game was to marry as many witches as possible. Kill me. I want my money back. If you like it that's great, man. But if Stella Glow is anything like Luminous Arc, I just can't waste my money on it. tl;dr Someone at Atlus has a witch fetish.

Not sure why tune and song are in quotes on the back of the case. Aaah~! Hero-chan, your "tuning fork" is so large! Hhnnaaah~! "Tune" my "song," Hero-chan! <3 Probably that. |
