so how did this end up as another thread about staff anyway seems like a bad idea to just disconnect everyone above a certain number. how about if their ping exceeds that of their partner or the average ping by a certain amount, say, 300ms? this way server lag is somewhat accounted for. |

Your only experience with me relating to the actual game was when you joined a racist "MeXiCaN p0wEr" guild where you and friends dressed in sombreros and taco shields and attempted to PK one of my tower guilds, while you were GP, which failed miserably so you then resorted to banning some of my members because they played along with your racist stereotype guild and told you that you were bad at PKing and should try mowing their lawn instead I know for sure I'd do better than you and the majority of the current GPs, but I'm not interested I suggested that it to send them an automated server PM informing them that they're over the cap and at risk of being banned |

this seems unfair because I was once extremely laggy while defending the old version of Sardon's tower and a PKer reported me, I got a PM from Poppy who was a GP at the time informing me that of my lag, then I asked her if I should stop defending until my lag clears up and she said yes, why didn't this happen in this very example?

The issue is that when I call someone a bitch, I'm aware that I'm breaking the rules If I were to speed hack in spar, I'm aware that I'm breaking the rules If I go to a tower and lag block, I'm aware that I'm breaking the rules However, if you're towering or sparring and living in the Middle East, New Zealand, Egypt, or anywhere like that, you have no idea when you're breaking this "lagging too much" rule unless it's incredibly obvious. There needs to be some script-enforced honestly applied to it. I don't think any player has an issue with stopping when they're told they're lagging, it's just a matter of not knowing when that line is being crossed. But the specific scenario in this thread has nothing to do with lagging too much anyway, it's an issue of GPs banning a player because multiple people group together and collectively spam report her or contact their GP friends until they get what they want. It's enabled due to there being no scripted enforcement of the rule, though. |

I dont think Thallen is defending Sarah. It seems that he's more like giving an example. That the more popular you are the higher the chances are of you getting banned. You get banned for being notorious. I never cared who was popular or not back when I was GP. If I saw you breaking the rules, I took care of that appropriately.

Pretty sure staff don't ban folks based on notoriety. I do wonder if there's a truth to popular folks being reported more frequently. Don't really pay much attention to reports.

I think the real problem is that some of these people take the game too serious and complain about it their entire life but not willing to do anything to change it themselves.

I always sparred on the same connection, you're talking as if I wanted it to be laggy. I wasn't eligible to fiber and when I moved out I got a 1Gb plan I could have kept my old one if I wanted to "lag". I don't even warp it's mostly delay (in France).

I could care less about her stats. I'd do the same thing for anyone who was actually a decent person. Sarah is actually one of the reasons that I personally don't spar anymore. Even if she wasn't in Alumni, I really doubt I'd be queuing against her because I simply don't enjoy it. I don't hold it against her though and I can't hate or treat her unfairly due to it, because all she's doing it sparring. Honestly, I'd benefit from Sarah being banned because I'd probably enjoy sparring a hell of a lot more. That's still not a reason for me to actually support or act like it's fair for her to be banned when she shouldn't be. It's like Meryl from PC Graal. Yes, the community hated her because her delay was insane, but she was an Australian in a majority American and European sparring environment. I wouldn't expect her to be banned or essentially voted out of the server for it. Of course there is! They get more of everything, the good and the bad. There are times when I can set my status to something and get replies about it within 30 seconds. Sarah is known to delay, spars for hours a day, and a lot of people hate her because of it. If she and another random have the exact same latency, we know which one is going to get reported... You know how many people have probably falsely reported Anyu (girl with 970k PKs) for account sharing with no proof at all? Based on the accusations on this forum, I bet a ton. The difference between that offense is that it's black and white. It can be proven 100% true or false. This "lagging too much" thing is blurred to the point where I feel like I'd be able to ban any sparrer I want that doesn't have an American flag and I'd be able to safely get away with it. |

The question is, what made you idiots ban her at this point, and not before?

Looking at the spar ban debate, how does one determine if someone is lagging intentionally or not(staff can't see there ping-altering least they can't on zone and ol) All staff can check is if it speedhacking(that they likely wouldn't be able to keep altering while sparring) Also delaying how do they determine that when the server atm is lagwarping hell fort aren't even the same now as everyone just warps here and there on my screen(tried diff places/wifi still same) so them delaying could be produced by anything aswell i.e get a phonecall/notification etc while playing loging in and out etc etc. Plus for a ban they need certain amount of warnings(usually 3-not sure for intentionally lagging or delaying) So there must actually be something wrong that is being done, else staff are at fault for targeting her?-but hey that's there job just because she has big stats doesn't make her above rule or mean she doesn't or hasn't done anything before. |
