The fundamental flaw with us bothering to argue is that I feel all-time stats have meaning, where as you do not. Neither of us was able to convince the other to change their opinion, so we should stop arguing now, we are just wasting each other's time.

You fail to realize you already have what you're asking for, the seasonal leaderboard has the exact same effect without resetting people's total stats.

Besides, I don't see any good reason why I shouldn't have a numerical advantage over xXDrag0nSL4yeR666Xx, who joins this month, when I have put in 6000 hours worth of time.

You said you don't care about stats anyways, so why do you care for them to be reset so badly? If you really didn't care, then you wouldn't say anything, because y'know, you don't care.

I only suggested this, so there wouldnt be a need to have a hide stats option.

A right to some form of privacy seems like a decent thing to offer, but I think 99% of people would use this as a way to hide their crappy spar stats and avoid community harassment
I'm pretty sure everyone would just assume that anyone with hidden spar stats has bad stats and will harass them anyway though, not sure if this achieves much really

I don't see how statistics are included in privacy. Privacy involves your email and things like that. I think all statistics should be shown and there shouldn't be a chance to hide them. If you don't think your stats are important, neither will others. But it will allow more competition for players that want to be better than everyone else.

They're not really, by "privacy" I guess I mean more like the option to avoid attention due to your stats... I don't like getting PMs about mine, but I could just go on friends-only PMs if it ever bothered me enough

I don't see any negative effects of this, but I don't really agree with it either... I don't have much of an opinion

Hm if it won't say (PRIVATE STATS) when it's private I might use the option to make my status/profile a bit more clear and neat.
